I've seen a lot of talk about ifs and maybes with players improving. Because the way this works has changed since the old game even the older managers are rightly being unsure here.
Whats important to note is:
- Players won't improve as rapidly as the old game. Gone are the days where a player can go up 4 ratings in 1 season!! 1 ratings improvement in 1 season would be a decent result now. As such young players are generally better than they were in the old game.
- Players keep their experience. If a player plays 10 games this season but doesn't improve, don't automatically think he needs more than 10 next season otherwise he won't improve. The experience points he gets from the 10 games will carry over into the next season, so he may only need 2 games next season to improve!! This differs from the old game as players couldn't carry experience beyond the end of the season as it reset.
- Old players are subject to the same rules on changes!! An old player with low talent who isn't playing is likely to lose experience points and therefore likely to get worse. Giving old players games could help to keep their ability at the same level for another season.
Yeah if im correct and read things right most things on the game but not all gets updated at the end of the season, retirements are at the half season mark and the players stats, wages, club costs ect get calculated up when the season ends,if thats wrong Richard am sorry
