COVENTRY taken over by a BILLIONAIRE!

I have observed in the press over the last two days that Coventry are in negotiations with a billionaire film company owner. Will this apply to this game, because i could sure do with a few million? lol. I mean come on, we want to make it realistics don't we. lol

Lol cheers si! See Rich the idea is gaining some support. I have tried everything else, going to the press, begging. Have a heart rich! I had no money to start with, a little pay day would go down a treat. And ultimately in the interest of making the game as realistic as possible we must stay up to date with current affairs, haha.

Bet you wont still be saying that if the deal falls through and Coventry go into administration with players leaving, a points deduction and a big fine, though Mark?? biggrin

We have to draw the line somewhere, otherwise Milan Manderic would have replaced Steve at Leicester 5 times by now!!

Sorry but.....

Billionaire scraps Coventry bid

Greek billionaire Alki David has withdrawn his interest in buying Coventry City and claims that the club is "falling apart".
The film maker, with a reported fortune of £4bn, emerged on Monday as a late rival to the club's preferred bid from Ray Ranson's Sisu Capital group.

But on Tuesday, David said: "After looking through the finances and seeing the numbers, the club is falling apart.

"The debt does not tally. Good luck to whoever takes them on."

Coventry chairman Joe Elliott has told BBC Sport the club is on the brink of sealing a takeover deal with Ray Ranson.

We hope things will have come to a head by Friday

Coventry City chairman Joe Elliot

"We are very, very close to completing the Sisu deal," said Elliot.

Elliot has distanced himself from David's interest and dismissed his claims that he had looked into the club's finances.

"I had a brief conversation with Mr David explaining what the situation with Sisu was and I haven't heard back from him since."

The board announced its intention to take the club into administration on 3 December in the hope it would bring the Sisu deal to completion before then.

I hope he doesnt scare off ranson and sisu...were down to 1 again...come on city!

The club, which has debts in the region of £38m, has been given until Thursday to prove its solvency or enter administration or incur a 10-point deduction.

If that were to happen, Coventry would drop into the bottom three of the Championship and possibly lose the services of manager Iain Dowie.

Elliot said the board were looking to have the deal done by the end of the week but would not be drawn into what that would mean for the club.

"We hope things will have come to a head by Friday. I'm not prepared to go any further than that," he added.

I'm sure the fans will give Steve some stick for that poor showing in the play offs after so much talk this season. I suppose it does mean we're all treated to the Coventry vs Leicester vs Leeds vs Southampton rivalry next season again even if Cardiff and possibly Norwich are gone.

Mark - Your a cheekey git lol! I also here Mark that your Rhianna system isn't working too well? Want to comment on those reports?

I am looking forward to the new season, The Leicester fans love me! I have brought in some great names for them to drool over - Yes ok we haven't gone up but everyone in Leicester and the world of football knows that Norwich will go up wrongly. Paul at Southampton should have gone up, He's got one of the best squads in the league and if it wasn't for Daniel Alves he would at least be in the final.

Oh well, Milan is more than welcome to replace me - As long as I get to go to a Premiership side ala Megson!

looks like you got the takeover you were hoping for then Mark. not quite a billionaire but it looks like it will satisfy the administrators and prevent a 10 point deduction!!!

HaHa yeah! Orly thing is i was kinda hoping for the ten point deduction. As a Cardiff City Fan it would be one small step closer to making sure we have championship football next season. Haha

Mark
