Hi There, I know that there is nothing in the rules that says you have to reply to emails with offers etc but I find in bloody ignorant that someone can't be bothered to write a quick email back saying, "thanks for your offer but I don't want to sell".
There are far too many managers on here that get emails and sit back and ignore them, if the offer that you have got isn't what you want then at least have the decency to let that person know - it takes about 30 seconds!!!!
I'm not speaking about everyone on the game and there is alot on here that get back very quickly (Jon Blackburn @ Debry for one) but I just think that as we are all playing the game - Have some respect for people who take the time to write the email. I try and send an email back to every single person that emails me out of respect and a few more should try it!
Mark Hamper - Bristol City Nik - Spurs
to name a couple and I'm sure that more and more people on here feel the same!Sorry to go off on one and I know there is nothing we can do but it irrataes me that people can be so ignorant to ignore someone.
This always comes up and I always reply in the same way. On one hand I understand its frustrating to maybe only recieve half the number of replies compared to the number of emails you send out.
BUT...
Some managers have situations you are more than likely unaware of. One manager you've named Steve has internet issues and the other is normally only online once a week. I would advise people not to go round labelling others lazy or rude when they don't know if there may be perfectly fair reasons behind not replying.
Also, nowhere does it say you have to transfer in management games. I know a couple of people who send teams in every week, never late, and yet I couldn't tell you what their last transfer was. Maybe some people enjoy the management rather than the dealing side of things. After all, youth players and retirements mean theres still a revolving door at a club even without transfers.
Not every manager is English, and as such if you go into long emails trying to explain exactly how the deal could be beneficial, the other manager could well just have no idea what you're on about!! If I emailed you a few paragrahs of Japanese I imagine you'd be quite confused.
On top of that, new managers might not understand the rules yet. Most people don't read the rules when they join up, and in fact I imagine most haven't read all the rules fullstop!! But more often than not new managers would rather try and get a handle on how the game works, than to dive into negotiations. It suits all of the regulars to pounce on new comers and try and get bargains but the price to pay is a low reply percentage.
And on a similar note, not every manager who joins is active. While even I can't explain why people join games and then don't take part, it happens on the internet. This is free to play so people have no obligation to participate once registered. By the letter of the rules, I have to allow these people time to become active in case they're just trying to find their feet, and this will lead to a window of a couple of weeks where people may be new on the game but not actually active. Another price you have to pay for trying to jump on new managers I'm afraid.
Just VERY VERY frustrating Rich and yes they may have internet problems but surely they have time to just say - No thanks, Yes - I'll do the deal.
You can say what you like mate but I'm sure a quick email either way could be sent. Or if they don't intend doing ANY transfers then just make it clear on the message boards. Have a section for it or something.
True, but not every manager uses the message boards. The people you're talking about are some of the ones who don't come on here so that'd be pretty useless.
I know its frustrating but every game of any decent size has this problem. If the game was cut to 10-20 teams, everyone would be 100% active but you'd very quickly run out of players to sign after a few no's.
I understand that some managers do play on this game without having any involvement with other managers, so if they don't want to be contacted then perhaps it would be best for their e-mail addresses to be taken off the team pages. their names would be left so we know that the job is taken, but the e-mail addresses take away so that a) they dont get e-mails they aren't interested in, and b) managers don't waste their time and get frustrated by sending e-mails they wont get a reply to.
obviously this should only apply to managers who have never been involved in negotiations or transfers, and who agree to it (if you can get in contact with them lol). if they wanted to become more active they could e-mail Richard and get their e-mail address back up.
thanks
rob

I think that would just encourage people to not deal though. At least the way it is, if you make them a great offer they might be tempted into being active in the transfer market.
yeah but there are some managers i know of who have been on FA for a few years now and have never made ONE transfer. i doubt that they will ever start dealing so maybe for this small number it would be better.
thanks
rob

I guess at the end of the day its the managers choice if they want to deal or not. Marc Hamper's name was mentioned in a previous post and i think that not dealing with other managers will be his downfall at the end of the day as he is already £0.4mil in debt so surely his chairman and fans cant be happy, i thought that if you were in debt you run the risk of being out of a job?
Part of the addiction of this game is the dealings and interaction with other managers, so as far as i can see its an inactive manager's loss if they decide not to take part in this side of the game.

i think rob has a point, it should be something to consider and i realize sometimes its an overwhelming number of emails with offers too, as i'm a victim of that, i'm sure i missed one or two angry lads
