A thread for the sports fans out there. In the last week we've had the Superbowl aired live on BBC and the start of the 6 nations rugby so I thought it was a good topic to get talking about.
Did anyone watch the Superbowl? Great to see BBC getting to show the game, and I was impressed with the lineup they got for the studio too. A cracking game as well.
As for the rugby, what a start to the tournament!! Scotland looked themselves unfortunately and I can't understand why promising young players never perform when they get called up. Italy need to go some way I think to get much more than 4th in the tournament. Ireland are in trouble, injuries from game 1 including a key player, a very old group of players now that hasn't bled youngsters for some time. France looked alright, and should be more reliable under the new coaches system so who knows. Wales couldn't have asked for a better start watching England self destruct in the final 15 minutes being so far ahead. I can't wait for the second weekend!!
I watched all of the superbowl - forget the final 15 of the wales game. What was it, 1 minute 27 seconds from the end, Manning on the verge of being sacked, and BAM snaps a pass about 35ft. The only thing more exciting was one of the superbowls a few years ago (forget who was playing) when it was the last play and if they kicked the field goal they would win, if they didn't, then they would lose - as it happened they missed, but still.
Gutted that the Cowboys weren't in the finals, and we only lost two games of the whole season but that was agianst the Patriots and the Giants, so I suppose it turned out fair.
