With just under a week to go until the faithful of Cardiff City decends on a pretty famous part of London for our FA Cup Semi final against Barnsley - I just wanted to see which managers from the game who support Cardiff (And there's a good few) are going to be walking up Wembley way to HOPEFULLY see the Bluebirds book a FA Cup Final place!
I shall be there and I'll be honest and say that I'm like a complete kid thinking of what could be! Anyway - Who else will be there and are you looking forward to it??????
Cardiff fans, what do you think about hosting the semi's at Wembley? Do you not think it maybe takes the gloss off going to the Final???? I reckon it would be better to go back to having them at other neutral grounds..we're not short of them - Old Trafford, Villa Park, Emirates, St.James, City of Manchester, Stamford Bridge etc etc etc

I think they should be held at the Millenium stadium myself..proven great stadium in a great location. As much as im looking forward to Wembley it does take the shine off who ever gets to the final

I think the 'it ruins the FA Cup having the semi's at Wembley' is generally a view of the spoilt supporters who enjoy success most seasons. Most people going to support Cardiff will have never had their club at Wembley for a cup game in their lifetime. Personally the chance to go to Wembley even for a Semi-final is a huge thing.
Does it undermine the final? No, because if Cardiff get to the final they'll be playing for a trophy, same great setting but totally different experience. And again, for a club like Cardiff, I can't see that anything will take the gloss off the chance to win the FA Cup.
Good point Rich, but I still reckon that if the semi-finals are held away from Wembley (maybe at the Millennium as you said Luke) then it is another incentive to push on in that Semi - not only to have the chance of winning the trophy but also to play at Wembley.
If Cardiff did win the FA Cup they cant play in the UEFA Cup next season because they are under the Welsh FA it has been said. Does this mean that Cardiff could never get into Europe ever, unless they played in the Welsh league??? Is there any other way for Cardiff to take the Welsh FA's place in the Qual. Rounds for Europe if you wanted to? Because surely Cardiff are the best Welsh side?

and im definitely not one of those 'spoilt supporters' Rich. I can tell you I was dreaming of Everton going there for the Carling Cup Final and was gutted after the end of the 2nd leg at Goodison!! There are very few teams who could expect to be in those finals year on year, and suprisingly most of those 'fans' who brag about it wouldnt even get close to qualifying for a ticket. Thats why the FA Cup is so interesting this year. Good luck to Cardiff!

I'll be there, i'll be there, with my little pick and shovel i'll be there. I'll be there . . . . . .
Lol
Yeah, should be a awesome experience. And which regards to Rob's comment about Europe, i think Michel Platini has come out and said that he will do all he can to get Cardiff into UEFA Cup. . . . If we win the FA Cup that is.
Its traditional, and part of history that the FA Cup winners go into Europe!
Looks like I'm going, and Richard - just waiting for the tickets to arrive. Last semi final I went to involving Cardiff (other than Welsh Cup) was European Cup Winners Cup against SV Hamburg in 1968!!! So if you are a Cardiff fan I reckon you should make the most of this one as you don't know when the next opportunity will come around.
If Cardiff win the cup I reckon they will be allowed into Europe (particularly as they now have backing from Platini etc.) - they always bend the rules when it suits them (e.g. Liverpool).
But then again teams like Inter might protest (out of fear)!
Hope everyone else going down to Wembley tomorrow enjoys the day. Only Barnsley and Portsmouth stand between Cardiff and lifting the FA Cup... who'd have thought it when we were losing 1-0 to Chasetown?!
Congratulations to Cardiff City on reaching the FA Cup Final!
I didn't watch the match as I went to the Everton game against Derby but any semi-final victory is a good one, and good luck in the Final against Pompey. You will be underdogs but we've seen how many cupsets there have been this year so you have every chance. Enjoy the occasion the lads who are going as well.
Rob

Totally agree! Best footballing day of my life. A very proud Bluebird!! Bring on Pompey. Just a shame that our fans have to suffer because there is more corporate hospitality there! Bloody prawn Sandwhiches stop the real fans going
What an amazing day, Probably the best day of my footballing life and thats no understatement. What an atmosphere, specially after the game when we all stayed behind for at least 3/4 hour. I dont think the final atmosphere will be as good but roll on and lets wait and see !
