Transfer Round Up - Week Three

Week Three Transfer Round up

Joey Barton from Norwich to Coventry City for Jay Tabb + £4.5 million

Joey Barton moved this week to the so called bright lights of Coventry. Fans are upset to lose who many see as there start youth product in Tabb - and have issues over the personel problems that Joey often finds himself facing, but if the manager can help the player with his demons - there is no doubting his quality on the ball

Daniele Capriotti from Ascoli to Arsenal for Kasper Schmeichel + £5.7 million

Arsenal finally get their man after almost two years of negotiating with the Ascoli board and lately the new manager. Arsenal boss Simon Newcombe is understood to be delighted but has no reservation that he has paid a high price in losing Kasper. Another link in the chain to long term success of the Arsenal team however and fans are delighted to secure so many good talents including Bale, Richards, Danielle, Torres, Martins, Downing and Irrarusso over the last few years

Zoltan Gera + Marlon King from West Brom to Derby for Arturo Lupoli + £0.4 million
Giles Barnes from Derby to West Brom for £8.4 million

Double deal for the mighty West Brom this week and a massive investment in youth. Derby fans are upset with the sale of theit two only real top draw stars and have reservations where the rest of the fee received will be spent, but no doubts it is a good deal for both parties depending on which stance you take. Rumours however abound that this was one of the deals looked at by the FA governing body. All was ratified as above board however and went through within the deadline

Emile Mpenza from Cagliari to Wolves for £4 million

Cagliari manager Steve Davies Evans this week let go star striker Mpenza for £4m. Fans were neither unhappy or happy when polled recently and saw the fact that Theo Walcott and Manuel Irrarusso signing multi year loan deals as a hamper for Mpenza to gain regular starts. The Cagliari manager is a big fan of the recently announced transfer listed striker Mark Viduka however - could the money be used on him we wonder?

Ryan Giggs loan from Manchester United to Empoli for season - No team sheet from Empoli, forced through by FA.

Man U legend Ryan Giggs today secured a loan deal to under pressure Empoli. The Empoli manager was oddly not avaliable to take his squad to the game or broker the deal but the press understand that the move was forced through by the FA to keep it fair to both clubs and player. Ryan is said to be thrilled to be playing each week again even if it was a sad day to finally be putting on a non Man U shirt on a matchday

Jermain Defoe from Spurs to Racing Santander for Juanjo + £1.5 million - Two teams deals did not match.

One time England man Defoe had a deal broken down in the final stages this week due to the boards making a mistake on the final amount due. The player in understandably upset by these events and it is thought that all concerned will try and meet this week to finalise the arrangements with view to a transfer in the coming weeks and months

cheers
