Manager of the Month Week 19 Results After voting was cast across the managers of the FA world we have the results of this months Manager of the month competition. At this crucial stage of the season many manager have stood up and got the best out of their teams as the leagues begin to include. Below are the official results. The Premiership 1st Luke Coakley (Man City/Milan); Despite criticism from his chairman over his highly controversial switch to Serie A giants Milan, Man City will only need to cast their mind back to the previous month to realise what a precious managerial talent that has slipped through their grasp. Under stringent targets, Coakley has produced when it mattered to leave the Eastlands club safely within their top 6 target. No doubt Coakley will be hoping to pick up similar awards next season as he now concentrates on rejuvenating one of Europes most infamous football brands.
"Thank you to football academy for the award.Having left for Milan only last week this award means even more and shows what can be achieved with the squad left behind.Manchester City has a great future and I hope they continue to collect the award under the new manager.I would also like to single out my former chairman Thaksin Shinawatra for special praise because he has been so supportive since I left Manchester City.I look forward to claiming this award in Italy in the near future." Luke Coakley (Man City/ Milan) 2nd; Simon Newcombe (Arsenal), 3rd; John Brady (Chelsea) The Championship 1st Mark Rollings (Coventry City); In another close run vote between Walker (Watford) and Rollings (Coventry) the Sky Blues boss has picked up his second consecutive award after his side confirmed their place in the Premier League. It has been a free-scoring month for Coventry, with17 goals in just 4 games. However, with Ray Ranson sensationally putting the club up for sale all at Coventry will be concerned about what the next two months hold.
"Firstly, I would like to thank those who voted for me. It is always nice to win appraisal and when it comes from your piers it is all the more special. I would like to pay tribute to Jamie Walker at Watford, who would have been an equally deserved winner. It would have been a fitting send off for a manager who had achieved great things in Football Academy. It has been a tremendous month for us, and one which has ultimately given us the chance to test ourselves in the Premier League next season." Mark Rollings (Coventry City FC). 2rd; Jamie Walker (Watford), 3rd; Paul Harrington (WBA) League One 1st Stephen Wells (Bristol City); The Robins have now moved to within touching distance of Championship competition next year after another good month which sees manager Stephen Wells win a third manager of the month prize in a row. Sunderland have pushed Bristol City all the way this season but look set to have to hope to progress through the lottery of the play-offs for the second year running.
"I'd like to thank the other managers for voting for me, again! I'd also like to thank the Bristol City players, without whom, I wouldn't have won these awards. I've come into the club, asked them to change the way they train, the way they approach a game, and the way they play the game. I've had nothing but support from them, and for that I'm truly grateful. We're in a great position in the league, but it's not over yet. The remaining games will be difficult, and we'll have to maintain our professionalism." Stephen Wells (Bristol City) 2nd; Jamie Best (Wolves), 3rd; John Petty (Sunderland)
Serie A 1st Adam Goble (Roma); Adam is another manager to maintain his stranglehold on the MOTM crown for a third month running after guiding his side to the brink of the Serie A title. Inter Milans challenge has wained over the last month, and allowed Roma to illustrate their dominance this season. Next season promises to be a tougher challenge, with Juventus always improving and AC Milan and Fiorentina appointing talented managers in an attempt to challenge towards the top of Italian football.
"Romas Adam Goble was unavailable for comment" 2nd; Steve Jenkins (Juventus), 3rd; Steve Esdale (Inter Milan) Serie B 1st Steve Davies-Evans (Cagliari); A new name adorns the Italian Serie B halls of appreciation this week and Cagliari boss Davies-Evans has inspired his side to an impressive month. After a turbulent start Cagliari have started scoring freely and will be heavily fancied in the play-offs. Their strike force, which includes wonder kids Theo Walcott and Iarusso, has developed into one of the most feared in Serie B.
"I will accept this award but only on behalf of the players. They have been nothing short of superb in training and on the pitch over the past few months so they fully deserve this for their efforts and may the good form continue as long as possible." Steve Davies-Evans (Cagliari) 2nd; Glenn Whitter (Palermo), 3rd; Ross Walker (Sampdoria. Spanish Primera 1st Stuart Price (Seville); Itwas another unblemished month for Seville and manager Stuart Price after his side moved to all but clinch the Spanish Primera title for the second successive year. Seville have left all comers trailing in their wake this season and will no doubt be dreading the day Price leaves for Cardiff City this summer. It will take a brave manager to step into Stuart Prices shoes, and Cardiff City fans must be eagerly anticipating the arrival of their new boss. "I'm pleased my team has won some difficult matches this month and I see this being recognition of their work not an achievement on its own. The players have worked hard to win the league and now we can rest key players and take on Real Madrid again in the cup." Stuart Price (Seville) 2nd; Paul Janyshiwskyj (Real Madrid), 3rd; Simon Jenkins (Real Valladolid) Spanish Segunda 1st Richard Jeffries (Real Zaragoza) In a lose run vote it was Zaragoza boss Richard Jeffries who won through over Celta Vigo boss Gareth Gardner to claim a second manager of the month crown. The automatic promotion slots have long been decided in Segunda, but Jeffries has kept his side playing to move within distance of the league title. It will be a testing season for both sides next term, but Zaragoza have a strike force who will fancy their chances of goals in Spains top league.
"I am delighted to win the award for the second time this season and credit must go to my squad of players, they have been fantastic for me this season.
I'm just hoping my chairman can come up with some funds so that we can continue to challenge in La Liga next year.
Congratulations to Gareth at Vigo too for a great battle this year." Richard Jeffries (Real Zaragoza) 2nd; Gareth Gardener (Celta Vigo).
