I have nothing to gain from this situation as I am not involved in "Beat the odds" so I'd like to put my backing forward for Pricey. Clearly he meant 250,000 and the fact that he's using his phone and has made mistakes in recent messages shows that he's made a simple mistake. I personally think that it's a obvious and should be counted as £250,000

I do have some sympathy for you, especially as I think you were entering on a mobile which is a bit of a pain - but rules are rules - and If I had said yes to you - I would have had to do it for everyone in the future to keep it fair - and that takes the piss out of the original rules really!

Put up a poll now I reckon. I think its absolutely pathetic you doing this. Get a grip. Why would he deliberately write that. Some people really do need to lighten up and live life, not a game. Be serious would anyone have really compained if you did give him the points ? If they did they are either serious gimps or just plain and utter a..holes !

My last post was quite tongue in cheek and you have taken it as an assault on your intergrity....! and seem to think im picking on you?

Do you know its this sort of rubbish which makes you wonder why you bother to put the hours in doing all the admin for these games. Do you think it gives me any pleasure to stick to the rules?

Im sure Rich will back me up - but when you have to run something you have to be fair to everyone otherwise you get accused of favourtism. Normally id say, sod it - have your points - but you have to take all compassion out of the decision - and when you do that - techincally you bet a certain amount and I gave you that based on the rules

rather than have a pop at the guy that runs this part of the game (for no profit i might add) why are you not saying to yourself "fair dues, rules is rules - and learn from it"?

With respect mate, its not really my fault you are on a phone and cant put a poll up. Presumably at some point in the future you wont be on your phone and could put a poll up then? Seems a logical solution?

on a side point im not sure a poll with help you - my stance is based on the rules as they are written. Take for example when teams field ineligble players in matches - you may well have 20 managers in your league writing to the FA saying the result should stand and they agree with you. But the FA are bound by the rules and cant change a decision based on other managers views - see what im getting at? Im letting you off that bit of the rules to give you a break :)

ball is pretty much in your court mate as I think im being pretty fair to all managers invovled, as is the decision. Put a poll up, dont put a poll up. Accept the decision, dont accept the decision - your perogative my man. Im not really after an arguement with you to be honest

put a bit of distance to it and youll realise how stupid this entire thread was lol :)

I actually said to you Dale before any of this that if it was my decision I wouldn't count it. Whether you put comma's in or not thats just grammar its not numerical which is what is being counted here. I also said that it wasn't up to me and that whatever Simon decided would go.

I think people need to remember a couple of managers spend some of their free time running this as a side game as while I could put in the time to find the bits to set it up, I couldn't spend the time to keep it going. You were in fact asking him to go against the clearly explained rules so he's done absolutely nothing wrong, I fully agree and back the decision he's made, and thats the end of it. If you're unhappy, thats a shame but thats your own fault. You might have been doing it on a phone but phones have numbers and end of the day its still your typo which you didn't correct until a long time after the deadline had passed.

Right my final say on the matter i don't give a **** about having the points or not its a game the thing i had a problem with is that it was sim who said he would let the other users make the decision but didn't listen to what they said.

I know people put their own time in to the game and have said thanks what you want me to do get on my knees and say thanks every min? (Think I've heard that somewhere before)

As i said thats my lot if i make a mistake again i'll just keep it to myself lol

Im afraid you are wrong. I never said I would let your fellow managers decide your fate - i believe my exact words were "I would ask for leniancy from them". I suggested you put a poll up, you didnt, and now you want the rules rewritten becuase a few people stuck up for you on a message board - hardly conclusive proof is it?

If as you suggest I listen to manager oppinion on this thread - there are also those want you kicked out the game - so shall I listen to manager oppinion and give you your points? And then listen to more manager oppinion and remove you from the game? Would that make you happy then? Or shall we use some common sense and realise that some of it was tongue in cheek?

The easiest solution is to stick to the rules. That way you dont get your points - but neither are you removed from the game. Seems simple to me

Rich - id suggest you close this thread if it gets any sillier - is anyone actually making any progress anymore? I would hope a logical observer would conclude, based on facts, im just trying to be fair to all the managers that play
