Does anyone know if the runners up of the domestic cup qualify for europe if the winners qualify from the league position or does it go to the 4th place team hopefuly lol.
Yes I did qualify for the European Cup as Newcastle Manager that way but I thought I could remember a discussion about changing the rules so that only the winner would qualify for europe if the league position wasn't high enough.
well im not going to complain as i benefit from it lol, but it does seem a tad unfair on a club like valencia's. Having said that, im sure the runners up of cup comps in "real life" qualify if the winners had arleady qualified.
look on the bright side martin, thats 3 less games for all your oldies! lol
It may well have be more than 3 games less seems as I qualified for the knockout stages of the European Cup this year and only got knocked out by Seville on Penalties in the quarter final.
Never mind may give me a chance to rebuild the Valencia team
If the Cup winners have already qualified for Europe through a top 3 league finish, the Cup qualification space goes to the runners up.
If the Cup runners up have already qualified as well for Europe through a top 3 league finish, the Cup qualification space goes to 4th place in the league.
