Real Madrid

As one of the most famous clubs in the world, I feel the need to give people the chance to apply for this job as its a little special unlike a standard vacancy. Anyone wishing to apply for the vacancy needs to post here including the following:

- Achievements (FA original can be included if you were on it, if you weren't don't worry that isn't a necessity).
- Why the board should consider you.

Please note that by applying for this job if you don't get it you may damage your reputation with your current clubs fans and chairman.

Also please consider the reality before applying. A manager in his first season is extremely unlikely to get it. Real Madrid wouldn't appoint a Forest Green manager with a 10% win ratio in real life, and FA works on the same theories.

Richard.

I would like to apply for the vacant position at Real Madrid

Experience

Preston North End

Season one - I inherited a club who had only just come out of administration and had been stripped of its good players to clear the clubs debts. Despite having an unbalanced squad and no investment I managed to make a number of good signings both on permanent deals and on loan. We finished the season reaching the playoff  finals beating Sunderland the pre season favourites to be champions in the semi - finals

Real Mallorca

Season two  - I  took over a team who had just been relegated from La Ligue finishing bottom with only one win. I was asked by the board to achieve immediate promotion back to the top flight. Despite tough competition from a number of clubs particularly a Levante side who had been given substantial financial backing we finished the season as champions also reaching the quarter finals of the domestic cup only narrowly losing to Barcelona

Season three - This season saw the club return to La Ligue. Having massively struggled the last time they were in the top flight the board requested that I ensure the club retained there top flight status. After a difficult first half of the season  performances picked up in the second half of the season with the club avoiding relegation by finishing 9th.

Season four - This season has seen the club move on again with a good start to season. The club has steered clear of the relegation worries of last season and with just two games to go until the half season point the club finds itself in 8th place.  The clubs recent good form including good away wins against Valencia and Espanyol means things are looking good this season with a mid table target as requested by the board a more than achievable aim.

Strengths

-  I have a proven track record in the transfer market managing to attract top players to both clubs I have managed with little to no investment.

- I have proved record of meeting targets and have never failed to meet a target set at Mallorca.

 - I have four years experience managing on the game and have built a good number of contacts in the game, enjoying strong links to a number of clubs.

Plan at Real Madrid

I have very definite plans of what I would like to achieve at Madrid.

Madrid find themselves 12 points of the pace in the league so there has to be an immediate improvement in results to ensure the club climb back up the table where they belong. Madrid are still in both the domestic and european cup competitions and both represent a good chance to gain some silverware this season. Next season the aim would be to finish the league as champions.

Long term the aim is to reduce the age of the squad. I think its important that there isn't a large number of changes straight away and that any changes are made in a sensible fashion  to ensure the club remain a leading club in Europe competing for all the top honours in the game

I would also be looking to improve the clubs infrastructure including investment in both the youth set up and stadium capacity.

I would like to show my interest in becoming the next Real Madrid manager.

Im currently manager of Parma in Seria A and the job I took on was a very tough one and a job I know many before had refused, they were a  very old unbalanced squad then and now things have started to change with some talented youth in place im sure Parma are in a better place than a year ago.

Teams managed
Werder Bremen League and cup winners in first season.
Man Utd
Hertha Berlin
Atletico Madrid
Spurs
Man City
Parma currently sitting in 7th place target 9th

I would bring a world of experience with me to one the greatest clubs on the planet having managed in England,Spain,Italy and Germany gaining many contacts and style of play,

Real Madrid have a history of having the worlds greatest players and that must remain while the fans will demand fast flowing football which i have been able to give to all the teams i have managed, i have the strengths to deliver in the transfer market while keeping an eye on future youth breaking into the side.

In a nutshell I can understand a job like this doesn't not come along often which is why im putting my name forward as I do believe this is a chance to get Real Madrid back to the top of the global football.

Chris

Two good managers. I think chris deserves a big move because he has so much experience but has only had one season at a top team

I have had the chance to work with him this season and he helped me with feedback when I replaced him at Man C and he has been easy and quick to deal with being our feeder club

Good luck both of you
Stu

Although I dont really want him as my biggest rival in Spain, its a real shame to see Real in the state they are.

Although Mark is an excellent manager, I think theres only one man who could return them to their former glory, Chris Hanton.

Good Luck to both though.

Adam

I would like to throw my name into the hat aswell for the Real Madrid job!

I joined FA around the half way stage of season 3 and was given an Aston Villa team who were sitting a lowly 10th in the Championship with very few points to their name. It seemed to me they had been mismanaged before I had arrived as the only obvious big named signing they had was William Gallas at Left Full-Back, even though there was an already decent Left Back available and were missing Gareth Barry as a result.
I had inherited a problem and with little knowledge of the game to begin with, struggled in my first two games to find results! But I sent a few emails off looking for a certain key player to turn the team around... And sure enough, I secured the signature of David Villa who had an instant impact to our results and fired Aston Villa from 10th, to 6th place come the end of the season.
So, in my first half-season (season 3) in charge of Aston Villa, I had turned the team around with one signing and got them into the play-offs; which we got beaten by Middlesbrough on penalties in the Semi-Finals.

The next season (season 4) was a fresh start for me, where I could really show my potential. I wasn't given any cash investment and with a target of Play-offs laid down by the Chairman, went on to set an early leading pace, to which I held for the remainder of the season and won the English Championship with a few games in hand, which were used to give the youth a run-out!

Season 5 saw me get a £15m investment to which I opted experience and signed two big named players in, Michael Owen and Gennaro Gattuso. With the addition of Kakha Kaladze on a season long loan spell. These players were brought in to try and secure Premier League status come season 6! I made some good links with clubs during this season and got Aston Villa a feeder club team in Wigan, where our players benefited through first team experience. It was a hard season but we dug deep and on the last day of the season managed to survive, finishing in a respectable 9th place, achieving the Chairman's target of survival. We also got beaten in the Semi-Finals of the Domestic Cup by a very strong and heavily invested Man City team to which we held 0-0 at half-time.

I have proven myself to be able to manage my team well, both with and without investment and have made and exceeded every target that I have been set. I have made some 'big named' signings which has shown to impact my club very positively, including the likes of Owen, Gattuso, Kaladze & David Villa.
I have only ever managed at Aston Villa FC which shows my loyalty to any club under my control, and this is the first time I have ever considered a move to any other club!

Real Madrid are such a prestigious club with so much more to offer the world of football than it currently is, and I believe that I can turn them around without having to make major changes to the current squad. The fans in Spain are some of the most dedicated in the footballing world and I want to reward them for this. I consider my wages at Aston Villa very low and wouldn't want an increase if Real Madrid were to come back to me with an offer. Therefore I would be a cheap replacement, who believes can make an instant impression to Real Madrid FC if given the chance.

Looking at this season, my plan would be to bring silverware back to the Bernabeu and there is still a possible treble available; realistically however, I would be expecting to make both finals of the cups, promising the board and fans one cup, but also striving for a double!

If I was to impress the board enough to keep me on another season, then I would want to be a massive threat for the Spanish crown and can't see why this isn't achievable!

I would just like to say that as a good mate of mine, Liam deserves the chance of getting this big job. He introduced me to the game and I think Real would have an exciting new manager. So good luck Liam, I think you deserve a shot. However, good luck to all applicants.
