I managed to get a word with Atalantas manager, Terry Manifold this afternoon as he was leaving for home.

Seems to have all been sorted out then?
TM.
Yes I am very pleased to still be the manager here and looking forward to another crack at promotion from Serie B. The team put together last season is a really solid group of lads and it would have been a shame not to part of the set-up.

Are there any radical changes being made?
TM.
Yes, there will be a few player movements over the next two weeks.
I have a very useful CM coming in on loan. That will be really interesting.
We are also putting the finishing touches to a swop involving one of our new youngsters, Tissoni. This should go through this week and the outcome gives me a few more options as regards tactics. I have been very busy this week on the phone and I am hoping by Saturday that the club will be back in the black, financially.

How is your relationship with the Chairman?
TM.
We have had a meeting and we both understand that we have differing views on the way forward but, we have agreed to give it a go and let see what we can achieve. It will not be easy but I think we are better equipped than last season.

How do you rate your chances?
TM.
I think we have a very good chance. I would not want to be here if I thought otherwise. There will still be Jonathans Reggina to deal with and Dave has a really good side at Ascoli, and we cant ignore the chances of Brescia and Udinese.
This Fridays match will be a real 6 pointer. We play Ascoli and it will not be easy to start the season with a win against this newly relegated Serie A side. But that is what we need to do.
Thank you, lets hope we have something positive to talk about on Friday evening.
