I would like to apply for the Athletic Bilbao job.
My contract with Sevilla is up at the end of the season and after several failed negotiations between myself and Jose Nido regarding not only a new contract but a realistic construction plan for Sevilla FC's future stability, I wouldn't be able to turn the club around for a prolonged period of time, given the lack of support. I would be sad to leave Sevilla as I've included several very good signings such as Gareth Bale and Alvaro Negredo along with nurturing the likes of Toldeo into the first team, however, as I haven't been offered any job security, I feel as if my time is coming to an end.
My previous achievements are taking Aston Villa from the relegation zone to the play-offs in my very first half-season in charge. Having been beaten, we bounced back in my first full season to lift the Championship with a few games to spare. Premiership newboys and we managed to stay up on the very last day of the season against the odds. Next season saw Aston Villa relegated and I was offered the Sevilla job where I had to (and did) win my first game in charge to secure European Cup football. The next two seasons saw a flourish of world class and young players enter the squad, with a good European cup run dashed in the Semi-finals by the eventual winners Real Valladolid to round off a 3rd place finish followed by a disappointing 5th place finish last season.
I believe that given the clubs decent position left by the Adams-Best era, I could develop Athletic Bilbao further and create a self-sustainable club able to fund themselves with good training facilities to harbour youth in a few seasons' time. I would be willing to invest my own earnings into the club to show my determination to the cause and believe that I could start this process prior to week 5 using around half of their current balance, even with the talent Athletic Bilbao lost to raise those funds. This is a task I feel I am more than capable of achieving and one that I would be delighted to be given the opportunity to undertake.
Good luck mate, right decision i think and I can't see why you woudn't get the job. Looking forward to finally playing you on a more 50/50 level and winning!
