Middlesbrough have called manager Gareth Gardner in for talks later this week following their 0-0 draw with Liverpool.
The board at Sevilla have called a private meeting later this week amid confusion at the club who are now on a decent run of form despite the managers criticism of the board.
Real Valladolid announce plans to rename Youth Academy. Chairman Paul Davidson said "Not many managers will ever win 4 trophies in one season. Jenkins built the club on the youngsters when he arrived so we see it as a fitting tribute of the recent success." The club have yet to confirm the new name of the Real Valladolid Youth Academy
Joe Garner emerged as the fans man of the match in Napoli's 2-1 win over Roma at the weekend. Fletcher agreed with the stats and thought Garner was the outstanding player of the game.
"I was delighted for Joe, to set one up and then score the winner he had a great game, not just that, his work rate was immense and on another day he could have had 3, he came to us from Notts Forest late on last season and has settled in really well, he played a few reserve games and weve thought he deserves a chance, he took that chance today, it gives me a massive headache next week with Kalou, and Lavezzi also being top players, a good headache I might add." " I also want to praise the other lads, Mark Noble is absolutely giving everything each week and proving why he's our captain, he defends, attacks, leads the lads and is probably my best signing ever !! this does have and effect on his fitness though so I'm looking for my other midfield lads to share the workrate even more" "Finally, despite being thrown together, and there are no prima donna superstar names in there, my defence has been one of the tightest in the league, they are young and are building a good understanding together, I'm so much looking forward to watching them grow this season." "I think Roma will finish well, they have a tough side and they had chances to win the game also so I'm sure we will be battling it out for places come the last few weeks, I wish them good luck"
"Just finally, I wanted to say once again, a thank you for the backing of my board and chairman, and the fans, weve taken our stadium to the max capacity, invested a lot in the youth academy and set in stone the next 5-10 year development of the club. If you get these things right behind the scenes its so much more satisfying than just buying in players whith unlimited cash and trying to build a winning team. Clubs have a duty to their fans, the new fair play rules come in soon where clubs cannot spend a certain percentage of their turnover on wages, and it will be interesting to see how this pans out in our league."
Leicester City manager Mark Rollings broke his recent media silence this week following a string of losses which see's his side sit bottom of the Premier League after 6 games. In a brief comment made in a hastily arranged press conference, following reports in the press that the boss was under pressure, and even being coveted by Italian club Palermo as a result, Rollings suggested he was going nowehere...unless pushed.
"I have absolutely no desire to leave Leicester City! I take full responsibility for the start we have had to the season but also have firm belief that we will soon improve. I have been at the club for a while now, invested my own wages back into an academy structure, and feel the chairman and I share one vision for where we want to take Leicester City.
Obviously we are in a results business, and the chairman will decide what my future holds but I still believe I am the man to deliver his aspirations. I have heard of the rumours linking me to the Palermo job and all I will say is that they would be wasting their time with any approach while I am still wanted here at Leicester."
High flying Napoli manager Andy Fletcher gave a short message to reporters today regarding the media link with Spurs.
"As much as I like the Premier league I am fully committed and enjoying the job at Napoli very much, whoever comes in at Spurs has some real sorting out to do and the availability of cash to buy players isnt certain, I wish them luck"
Middlesbrough owner Steve Gibson arrived at the team stadium tonight for showdown talks with manager Gareth Gardner following speculation about his future.
Liverpool owner Tom Hicks flew into the country earlier today to approach manager Mark Galeozzi over a contract extension beyond the end of this season.
Luke a tough game against Chelsea this week, how do you approach such a game?
Its going to be tough but we have to go with the right attitude. Yes they currently have better players but my lads are in confident mood as well. We will go and look to fill the midfield and see what that brings. We have a strong spine to the team so if we play to our strengths and they have an off day then who knows.
Six games into the season now, how pleased are you with the start?
Well we are currently third in the table and punching above our weight but at the moment it is fully deserved. I am still disappointed with our loss to Boro, we let our selves down a bit but overall its been a strong start and the players are still looking fit. Also 100% record in Europe which im very pleased with, we really need to progress in Europe to push the club that bit further forward.
Since you joined you have consistently talked about the future, taking big steps off it and small steps forward on it. Yet interestingly you are out of contract at the end of this season?
Well the club is a passion for me, I am bigger than the club, they are my priority. When the times comes and its time for me to move on I want to know I have left a legacy behind. The work being done off the pitch means that this club doesnt need a sugar daddy and has a secure long term future at this level.
But you are out of contract at the end of the season?
Yes I am, but the chairman does have an option of a further year that he can activate at anytime. If he wanted to extend it further again I am always open to talks as I see my future here at Cardiff City.

It was a real tussle and a match that did not reveal a lot about the two teams. Torino played very well and considering they are playing in the second round of the Italian Domestic Cup on Monday, Torinos manager Callum Jefferies came here to win this one.

That wasn't easy was it?
Terry.
No, they made us fight for the point. When they took the lead in the 1st minute through that bicycle kick from Kahalii. I began to think it was not our day. But Vivo managed to get us back level on 55 minutes and I did manage to settle my nerves a little.
PRESS.
Whilst the season is going well you arent looking like a promotion side are you?
Terry.
No I have to agree with you. I have a great looking side but, they just seem to lack that killer punch. I have tried several combinations, but at the moment we just don't seem able to dominate a match. Today Kevin Smith was so close to scoring three goals but the finish was just short of that bit of luck in running.
PRESS.
Where do you go from here?
Terry.
Well we will examine todays play and see if we can change a few things to make the difference between going up or just being a runner up again. I can't see that even with spare cash that there is a lot more that I can do.
