League One: Managers FA Manager of the Season

Candidates

Chris Smith - Blackpool have been crowned champions of League One already in his first full season in management, taking a 9 point lead into the final week of the season despite a top 8 target at the start of the campaign. In the English Cup they reached round 4 knocking out West Brom and Blackburn from the Championship, and then Manchester City from the Premiership, only to lose to Portsmouth.

Seb Carter - Crystal Palace have managed to win promotion securing 2nd place in the table, 5 points ahead of 3rd place. The average age of their team is only 22 and this includes the loans of 9 players out of the squad this season, all youngsters themselves. Media reports earlier in the season had suggested loaning out the top young players would see them lose their promotion place but they have achieved both.

Jon Gilpin - Preston have fought their way into 3rd place and the play-offs after many seasons of building under the current manager. They may have only won 11 games this season but they have not lost many games to teams near the bottom, something many teams in  League One have done this season on numerous occasions. They crashed out the Englsih Cup in round 1 to Crystal Palace though.

Voting ends Saturday.
