Your gonna love this Stu...i only got back from holiday on Saturday lunch time and i quickly entered my team without looking at who i was playing and leaving my one of my best players out...I would of lost to Barcelona anyway but at least this is my way of saying how i did!
I see you had a nice and easy start to the season ?
Looking forward to beating you for the first time.
I must be honest to you I didn't enter a team sheet because I had a delay in my e-mails and was at F1 all weekend so can't take any credit for the win. I didn't even know I had been given Barca - was offered Racing Sant. in the Spanish league but asked for a slightly better team and got Barca ha what a result eh! I'm going to enjoy being the manager of the favourites for a change. Mind you I'll probably sell everyone and buy rubbish ending up mid table.... than again maybe not lol
The excuses are coming already then Chris? One week closer to Torres handing in a transfer request.
Welcome to Spain Allan. All the pressure is on you now at Barcelona with that talented squad. I'll try and make it a more difficult match than Atletico Madrid managed.

I'm signing my second striker in two weeks so we wouldn't have room for Torres here. I here the weather in London is better anyway.

How on earth can my board target a top 6 finish when Sevillas target is a top 6 finish, either my board expects way to much from me or Sevillas expects very little, looking at both squads it doesnt make sense and is neither fair for both teams to set the same target. Who decided on the targets , the Sevilla manger?
The targets are based on the clubs size. Sevilla finished the real life La Liga 3rd and Zaragoza 6th last season so top 6 fits both. If anyone should be feeling hard done by it's Valencia!! Three top 2 targets for only 2 clubs, someones going to fall victim to an over ambitious chairman this season.
if it reflects real life and Zaragozas top 6 finish how come i got 4th worst squad in the league, is it maybe cause they over achieved in real life with the players they have, if so it aint realistic to expect to over achieve all the time, Sevilla could be managed by my 6 yr old niece and still achieve their target, where as Alex Ferguson couldnt achieve mine, any1 offering odds on me failing to achieve my target, i place my house on a double, me failing and Sevilla succeeding, dont think the bookies would give u odds actually, they would be that much a certainty, they wouldnt accept bets. Realistic
I assume Zaragoza did over achieve although Aimar is hardly a weak player.
Based on how good the teams are in FA without including loan players (so Iniesta gives your team a boost compared to others on this list) it orders like this:
Real Madrid Valencia Barcelona - Interesting they're only third I thought. Atletico Madrid Sevilla Villarreal Espanyol Real Zaragoza Real Mallorca Recreativo Huelva Racing Santander Getafe
So your club expect Zaragoza to finish above 2 teams better rated. Espanyol have the same target as you as do Mallorca who are significantly worse. You could move to Mallorca if you prefer...? Or maybe the Getafe manager will swap with you?
Yeh i have spent all my money, to bring in Gudjohnsen, at the start of the season i would rather have had Mallorcas squad than mine, i was 4th worst squad without a doubt coz i looked at it and thought my squad is better than bottom 3, so escaping relegation is realistic target, but u say top6 is more realistic, i find it hard to believe any chairman who had a squad like mine in this league and in this positon would say a top6 target is what we want, i dont think so, it would be escape relegation without a shadow of a doubt.
Your personal target can differ to your clubs. Some teams might look for a stable year of rebuilding but every year or so the chairman of all clubs will look to improve in the league by a place or two. No one WANTS to go backwards.
Surely it would have been better to make 4 teams in each league whos target was to miss relegation as then at least 1 would make their target, if u do decide to, surely mine would change, plz dont say Mallorca
Mallorca are a worse team so if I did change them, which I won't, Mallorca would be moved into the lower target area not Zaragoza. Spain is realistically a tough league and as such the chairmans targets are all quite high, with too many teams looking to finish high in the league and not enough places for all of them. As I said some seasons might be put aside for rebuilding so whoever just survives relegation this season is likely to have a reduced target for next season, not an increased one.
Im just concerned , that this is having some sort of rating on how good a manager is, and might have to look at the available clubs already, is there a lsit of unmanaged clubs, coz why should my rating as a manger go down just because of my boards toally unrealistic ambitions.
If improving 2 places is too hard you won't find an easier, better rated team left unmanaged. If someone looks to jump ship every few weeks they're also less likely to get a big club after them as like real life, clubs wouldn't high a manager who they didn't feel was commited to them.
Like I said if you miss out on your target, chances are next seasons target will reflect that, therefore with an added year of building a team it becomes twice as easy next season to meet the goals.
My target is listed as top 6 but I'm going to get promotion, so that means Southampton or WBA are not going to achieve their target of top 2 finish!
Targets are about what the "club" want, i.e. the board. That's different to what the manager can achieve. Good management is all about doing the best you can with the resources you have available.
Hey av just started this game with athletic bilbao and a see theres people moaning about there teams expectations, mines is to be in the top 3,iv got 1 good player in my team and 1million pound in the bank,if anyone is intitled to a moan a think its me.
My target doesn't match the club one Kenny. I think you had a tough start to the season which has made you into a Neil Warnock rather than an Alex Ferguson

Im happy being a Warnock, im standing on the touchline stamping my feet in a way to show my players its time to break legs , its just a pity theres not an aggression just now coz if there was, never mind strong it would be break some legs.

Well I'm a little suprised I've gone so long without losing. Was expecting a draw result form the Valencia game. With some decent new arrivals coming in - now I have the extra time to keep playing. I may just give Real a good run to the title, fingers crossed. Got a thread bare squad at the mo but got Iniesta and Messi returning soon and with the youth brought in the future's bright.
