Come on Allan that little rant is very uncalled for... you have no idea of the size of the job Richard has to do.. the deadline for todays games was 4pm and I expect there were hundreds of emails to sort out and one manager quitting already in the last week doesnt make things easier

I think if you are unhappy with the anticipation of waiting for the site to be updated then maybe you should leave as clearly taking a cheap shot at somebody who gives up his time to run this game you are not worth of his commitment

I Have to agree Allan - that just comes across as ungrateful mate

None of know how long it takes to update the site, teams, results, transfers and media - but im guessing quite a fair bit. Also bear in mind that non of us pay to play this game - and have no right to complain when results are late - unless in jest

Also bear in mind that Richard went away for a holiday so has a backlog. I went away the other day for 2 days and came back to 67 emails in my inbox - takes time to get through them all mate

More to the point - it just seems disrespectful to someone who runs this game we all play - and perhaps something that should have been said in private - if it should have been said at all

If i ran this game, and read that on a message board - id ask myself the question "why am i bothering at all?"

Important. The deadline for team sheets is 4pm. This does not read the games will be uploaded at 4pm. You all have until 4pm Friday to send in your teams and technically can submit/change your lineups right up until 4pm which some of you do regularly. This means games can't start to be processed until after this time. The old game regularly uploaded Saturday morning. The new game has been quickened and as such often updates late Friday night.

Allan, you posted your comment before 10pm. When have the games ever been uploaded before 10pm?

If I was being paid to run the game, I'm sure I'd stop everything I do on Friday nights and cram FA into the immediate hours after the deadline however as it's run as a hobby sometimes I have real life commitments which take up and hour or two Friday evening. I'd hope that for the sake of keeping it a free game, people were willing to wait an extra hour or two.

As mentioned above I've been away for a week and only been back a little over a day. With near 100 emails to sort through if this weeks games were to go up late I think there would be a good reason for it, but they're not.

Look I'm not having a rant and you other managers were not asked the question so kindly keep you comments to yourself, thankyou.

Anyway Richard I do understand that the site is very large and you do do a very good job with the game I have never and am still not critising the work you do. All I am asking is if sending team sheets in a day earlier would help with the work load you already have! ignore what other managers seem to think as this question has diddely squat to do with them directly.
For arguements sake if team sheets were to be recieved earlier then you can run the games earlier thus the site gets updated earlier.... makes sense really.
I am not saying I will quit just because the games update late but the grief I get from my partner is enough to quit. Some of the managers on here may have all the time in the world and never had a girlfriend to speak of but I'm sure the ones that do will see my piont.

Take the question for what it really is and not as a dig at the good work you are doing.

Whatever the rights and or wrongs of the argument, if you don't want other managers expressing opinions Allan you should email Richard directly. Once it goes on here it's bound to attract comments!

Surely moving the deadline one day earlier will simply mean the results are also expected one day earlier? If they aren't you would have longer to wait and if they are you would have the same amount of time to wait as now - so I can't see how your suggestion would make a difference. Unless it's the gap between matches that's the issue?

I see your point Steve but I was asking a question and not just 'having a rant' as expressed in an earlier post. Yes comments are all well and good but if they have a piont to them and I feel mine did. e-mailing the team sheets a day earlier would mean Richard had everything in place for the games on Friday, I'm not asking for results Thursday just the results a little earlier on a Friday it's not that difficult to see or understand.

I also feel that this could give Richard more time to himself on a Friday, I am actually sorry for stating I was annoyed that was rather rude of me to be honest but what I am looking for a reasonable solution to is not.

I've nothing wrong with questions about the game in any area including uploading data if people have them, but your phrasing does make it sound more like a rant than a question Allan and by putting it on here instead of emailing me you invite others to comment.

If your suggestion worked I'd happily implement it but as someone has said above, if you move the deadline forward this doesn't make uploads any faster and actually keeps the same principles as exist now in that theres a 4pm team sheet deadline, and an upload of 11pm Friday - 11am Saturday for the results and team sheets depending on other factors. If you want 2 set times to be online to avoid conflict with your partner Allan, simple email a team in at say 3.30pm Friday, then come online at midday Saturday to check the update? Hopefully that answers your question but if not I'm happy to discuss it further in public or private.

Okay. I will stick around but possibly only for another week or 2. I do like the set-up and the diversity of this game but can't take up my whole weekend doing it. Which I know you must! Anyway I'm not quiting now but may have to give it up soon.

I dont get it, what takes up all your weekend Allen? Do you sit and wait for the result? if so i think that says more about you than the game.

That is a bit of a cheap shot. No I don't sit and wait for results. I play football both Sat and Sunday so if I wait till sat for results and there is a game Mon then I need to sort things out with my team after football on Sat so my weekend get taken up, you understand that??????
If you have a partner you live with then you would be able to see how this is a problem for me.
