Would managers like a feature that allowed real life events such as board takeovers to be replicated in FA? A simple random generator could be set up, selecting from a list of possible events eg. Board takeover, all with differing end results so a board takeover could give your club a cash injection. Alternatively there could be some random negative events as well.
Firstly, do people like this idea?
Secondly, if so feel free to add possibilities that could be included in the generator in this thread. If people like the idea then a list of possibilities can be compiled here.
Because these would be rare events in real life, they would be uncommon in FA as well if introduced.
Yeah sounds like a great idea, would certainly make things more interesting.
Some negative events could be something like a fire at the stadium has cost the club £££'s or health and safety inspectors have fined you £££'s for having such and such wrong, is this what you're looking for?

Genoa - Season 7 Arsenal - Season 6 Inter Milan - Seasons 4-5 Wolves - Seasons 1-3
Training ground incident - player and manager have a row (e.g. Souness / Cole) Training ground incident - players fight (e.g. Barton and everyone else) On pitch incident (e.g. Dyer fighting) Anger over substitution - player leaves the ground during match. Player goes missing (e.g. Campbell at Arsenal) Player makes unauthorised comments to press. Club fails to control crowd - pitch invasion. Mass brawl between players / coaching staff (e.g. Arsenal whenever they are losing!) Crowd trouble - objects thrown onto pitch. Player arrested (e.g. drink/drugs/driving incident....Pennant etc. or fighting in nightclub....Barton again or Bellamy!) Dodgy burgers and pies cause public health scare. Manager goes mental and has a breakdown (don't need this as a random event - it happens on here every couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Good events - New player signs at no cost (start this off by Sinclair, Capaldi and Fowler being added to Cardiff's squad)!
Incidents could result in fines to the club, suspensions, playing games behind locked doors, ground closure, etc.
To be honest sum of them ideas r great but the ones were maybe theres a fire in the stadiums ect might result in a few unhappy managers thats tryed really hard transfering players and making money for there club then it goes on sumthing that should have nuthing really to do with a fatasy league game,i personaly myself havnt alot of money in my team therefore with money getting took of for sumthing like that well would u b happy if that happens to u and no other manager, just wouldnt b fair if u ask me,sorry.
This is why the idea is up for debate before I decide whether it's included or not. These events would be rare but as you say they would be uncontrollable by managers so it comes down to the issue of whether you think the realism, and chance of gaining from the events, would outweigh the chance of losing from the events?
I think a good thing would be to have a kinda commentary thing that maybe things like players and managers had bust ups ect it would make good reading but not to get disciplined for it,would make it abit more real with out interupting with the game at hand
Player 'accidentally' misses a number of random drug tests (Rio Ferdinand). Players in 'roasting' scandal at London hotel (Rio again plus Dyer etc). Manager in trouble after his son (who is a football agent) gets involved in bung! (Allardice, Ferguson) Player publishes autobiography and makes money by writing about missing a penalty - says it was good for his personal development (Lampard!). Player gets team-mate sent of in an international (Ronaldo). Manager has trouble explaining why an agent gave him a racehorse as a present! (Redknapp). Most of team killed in plane crash (Busby Babes). Most of team killed in plane crash/bus crash/terrorist attack/hostage situation etc etc (Dream Team)!
Those last two would be a bit cruel Steve...a manager losing 5 or 6 of his players in a 'plane crash' doesnt happen too often does it???? :)
Perhaps:
Player leaves on compassionate leave for x weeks
Player announces sudden retirement due to injury Celebrity backer injects £Xm into struggling club New foreign chairman brings three promising youngsters with him (Man City, Birmingham)
This idea is good however i dont believe any money over £1m should be taken from funds, to keep the game fair.

I think this is spot on Richard. Some of the ideas are good as well - some not so good or feesable. Anyway the basic stuff like take overs bringing cash injections or a manager getting forced out the door (even if having done well at a club) examples could be the position Martin Jol or 'The special one' often seem to face. If no success is brought with the new cash injections then they face the sack. Bit of a shame but happens. Also how about new stadium built or moving stadiums increasing the cash some clubs will get from gate reciepts but means they go a season with less cash to start with due to the cost of the new stadium - eg Arsenal, they had little cash to spend on new players due to moving but the move will bring in extra revenue for the club in the long run. Owners in Debt leaving the club in with huge repayments to make eg the Glazers that own Man Utd?
Don't how you would be able to do these things but just some true life examples.
If certian counties appear to have better players and are doing well in Europe they get a new TV deal meaning all the teams in the league get extra cash compared with other countries. eg the Premiership this season!!!
Some good ideas. i think and hope steve was joking with the last two suggestions rob. stadiums has been suggested in a seperate thread allan so if this is added aswell maybe big stadium events should not happen. you could have floodlights need replacing or pitch needs relaying but nothing big like new stadium built.
