Football Academy Evolution has linked up with Google now!!

You will notice a number of Google items on the main pages now as a result of this. While I have worked to get the game ad free from Freewebs I'm willing to compromise here because everytime someone follows one of the Google links FA will recieve a small fee. With the game recieving a significant number of visitors each day I hope that given time money (if any) accumulated will be put back into the game with the long term aim to move away from being an attachment to Freewebs and having a domain name and webspace of its own. This would put FA a lot closer to being on par with the best online football management games on the web.

I thought I'd let everyone know why these have appeared on the site, and to promise that this is intended as a step in the right direction, not a backwards step.

I'm going to spend all day typing Football Academy into google and following the link! Well maybe not all day but if we all did it 10 times a day FA would be rolling in it!!

Why dont we all make an effort instead of using a shortcut - to actually go to Google first when we come to the site and message board!

Richard can then share the wealth and buy us all Aston Martins when hes rolling in it?

Seriously though - lets all get to the site via Google. Wont take us more than a few second extra and will benefit the site

I'm not sure about Aston Martins...

If you go to Google and search for FA it won't have any effect (except maybe raise FA in the list of search results to the first page). What was mentioned in my post at the top of this thread (ie. earnings) only applies with people clicking on the Google links on this game, so the links from the Managers Office for example.

I can keep a track of the clicks count through Google and will keep an eye on it. If people don't use it then I'll remove the ads from the game as it won't be benefitting the game and just be cluttering your pages. But after a few hours yesteday when I last checked there were a few clicks already recorded.

I thought I'd clarify that before you went to Google and just kept doing a Football Academy search!!

Thanks to FA's visitors/users and Google, FA has raised over £1 in the first 4 days. The advertising on the site will remain under review and if it stops earning I'll remove the ads to remove the clutter.

If we end up taking £130 a year for the game that's an awful lot of improvements that can be made!!

It might not sound like lots but it's a big improvement on £0 a year, and would allow me to spend money upgrading features instead of hunting for free add-ons etc. Can only be good for the game.

ps i havent had any increase in spyware of other crap since started following the links anyway - so at least google is on its game for redirecting to half decent ad sites
