Can anyone tell me about Matt Green a young striker you have at your club...my team Oxford have just got him on loan and i wanted to know what to expect ?
Quick, very raw talent. He's like a Cameron Jerome (who Cardiff sold to Birmingham) but a few years less developed. Never really had a chance at Championship level so a bit of an unknown.
He is quick and very raw indeed, his first season as a full time pro coming from Newport. Seen bits of him in pre-season and looked ok. he needs games and hopefully some goals. Good player for your division id say

Sorry about the slow reply...i never went away when he scored but i did go and watch him in the fa cup against Southend and he looked a decent player quick and chased everything down,he is a bit raw as he tries to do to much himself but i hope you guys let us keep him for the rest of the season as i think he will be a right handfull in this league.
To be honest Chris - with us looking like we're going to Administration soon you guys might pick him up for £32.50 and a bag of Nobbys Nuts.
I have seen ALOT of bad stuff written about him from Darlington fans though saying he was lazy and couldn't be bothered with very little end product.
When he arrived at Cardiff people were buzzing coz he'd scored alot of goals for Newport County in the Welsh League and he was touted as a trickster and to be fair - His first outing against Preston last year showed that with confidence - he has what it takes.
Green broke his collerbone after 110 seconds this week and is unlikely to play for us again which i think is a shame, hope he does break through at Cardiff and with all your money trouble i can see a few big earners leaving so you never know.
Cheers for all you replies over this subject. Chris
A little off-topic, but since alot of Cardiff fans will visit this topic: Is the NP messageboard broken for anyone else? It's not worked for me since the end of December.
Green is off the mark...he scored 2 today with the first a great finish, his overal play was brill he never stopped and was a right handfull.
We want to keep him at Oxford and he seems to want to stay... he has told the local Radio station that he hopes to remain in first team football and he turned down moves to league clubs to come to us and he hopes something can be done.
Just a quick update on green he has now scored 6 in 11 games and is getting better with every game he plays, He scored again today in our 2-1 win over Stevenage and was a real threat throughout the game.We really want him next season and he says his future is unclear at Cardiff as he is out if contract at the end of the season.
Matt Green celebrates his winning goal against Stevenage
Darren Patterson says he has already opened discussions with striker Matt Green about staying at Oxford United next season.
The U's boss revealed after yesterday's impressive 2-1 win over promotion-chasing Stevenage - in which Green hit a brilliant winner - that talks have begun. But he knows he faces strong competition for the 21-year-old's signature.
The on-loan Cardiff City striker and midfielder Adam Murray were both outstanding as the U's made it three wins on the spin for the first time since April 2007.
This duo look a class above Conference level.
Patterson said: "We're very lucky to have Adam. He's a very good footballer.
"With Greeny we'll have to wait and see about next season.

"I've already had a preliminary chat with the boy, we'll see where we're at. I know we're going to be up against a lot of competition, but I was up against a lot of competition to get him in the first place."
There had been doubts about whether he would be able to play twice in three days following knee problems which mean he doesn't train in the early part of each week, but in the end, he lasted the full 90 minutes, and looked sharp until the very end.
