So this is another Aucton that can just get cancelled when minimum bid has been hit. Rich something needs to be done with these. Either no live auctions or managers must be forced to put deals through !
How come John Petty had a lot of stick and he put a cluase in his. I cant see no clauses or small print here. Rules for some and not for others i see

I don't see Martin has said anywhere that the bidding has ended. I'd also like to point out I didn't comment on the Sunderland auction thread so how exactly is it one rule for some and not for others?

There are no rules for how you go about selling your players. I'm not going to remove any chance for individual creativity from this game. Managers can do what they like within the rules and I don't see that any have been broken here.

Richard.

Theres probably not been any criticisms because it doesnt say here that the auction has been cancelled.

But I do agree with you Gareth that something has to be done

Thanks

Rob

Sorry just noticed on the other thread that it does say that Cattermole is no longer for sale

But then he didn't set a deadline for the bidding how the last 'auction' had. So how does anyone know whether it was stopped early or at the time he had planned to stop it?

I think if you're going into such a bidding style and the rules of the bidding are put there clearly, you're asking for trouble. It boils down to the same thing as dealing with new managers. You might get a bargain once in a while, but that weighs against the fact most will never reply to you.

Richard.

I don't particularly like this auction process therefore tend not to enter them but as far i can tell the Newcastle manager only stated that bidding started at 10m not that 10m would definately trigger a sale - Surely until the time both managers confirm an agreement both parties have the right to change there mind.

Personally I blame the manager who started this auction process in the beginning - Do we know who that was GG? - LOL

I totally agree. I think that the auction process has proved that It just hasn't worked. I think that the manager who starts a Auction thred should be prepared to go through with the deal if someone meets their valuation or above but I do understand that sometimes things can happen that stops a player being sold.

I dont get involved in these Auctions as find them totally pointless, so I guess you do so at your own risk. GG you started these live auctions didnt you lol

I have been negotiating for Cattermole in private before this was started! I'm not pleased to see I was being talked to on one side and he was being auctioned out the other side! I don't like the auctions. If managers don't use them nobody will start them. Some have started recently and managers have used them so those managers are to blame for it just as much

Just for the record the only 1 manager that bid on my "Auction" is actually getting that player. A deal was done afterwards.

As you'll see from my next post Gareth I corrected myself once Rob had pointed that out. Strangely I don't have time to read every single transfer thread you all post, so enough with the cheeky comments please. I don't see that this thread is going anywhere now and I've made my points about the situation of auctions, so I'm closing it.

Richard.
