An intriguing game this week between two accomplished premiership sides. Both Micah Richards for Arsenal and former Arsenal star Manu Eboue were suspended for this match - so both teams opted for a 352 formation. Arsenal showed determination to clinch an even game after going 3-0 down in the first half! Reports out of Man City suggest the gaffer was annoyed that after trying so hard they didnt share the spoils points wise as otherwise it would have been a good oppurtunity to rest players ahead of a difficult last half to the season
Newcastle 2 vs Fulham 2
Another dissapointing result for the fans of Newcastle United and surely the pressure will soon start to get serious for the manager. How long can the chairman stay quiet when so much is at stake to stay in the Premiership? Newcastle's playing staff has improved in recent weeks - but the manager needs to urgently gel these new players into a winning team or he may find the job is taken out of his hands
Spurs 1 vs Chelsea 4
A suprising game this week between two heavy weight sides, as most people in the media expected Spurs to put up much more a fight against run away leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane. In truth though this was very one sided, and Chelsea bossed the game from start to finish, witht the scoreline reflecting the domination shown throughout the match. Chelsea have been winning on auto pilot with just an assistant manager in charge - but rumours suggest a manager will be appointed in the near future
Wigan 0 Everton 3
A vital win this week for plucky Everton lead by the impressive Thierry Henry. Showing no sings of tired legs, the veteran superstar lead the line in an impressive display and Wigan more and more are turning into the whipping boys of the Premiership. That being said, many pundits think Wigan, with a bit of work can turn themselves into a decent team - but this has to happen sooner rather than later to safeguard their positiion in the top flight - will it happen in time?
West Ham 2 vs Liverpool 2
A great game this week at Upton Park. West Ham went 2-0 up withouth having the lions share of the possiesson - before a resolute Liverpool pegged them back to 2 a peice. Liverpool and West Ham are always impressive this season and are never easy to beat - but they did a good job of cancelling each others skillset out this week - which is bound to frustrate managers and supporters alike............
Portsmouth 2 vs Man Utd 4
Rounding up the week - Man Utd continued their assualt on getting back on track in the league. New signing Hugain also chipped in with 2 goals to prove he was not just a makeweight in the deal that took Wayne Rooney to Real Madrid. Portsmouth can rightly feel hard done by - as it was a very even game and they were unlucky as the scoreline did not reflect the match as a whole - but they just couldnt match the firepower of Utd on the day
