Cardiff vacancy

I'm aware that theres a large number of Cardiff fans on FA. Anyone wishing to apply for the vacancy needs to post here including the following:

- Achievements (FA original can be included if you were on it, if you weren't don't worry that isn't a necessity).
- Why the board should consider you.

Please note that by applying for this job if you don't get it you may damage your reputation with your current clubs fans and chairman.

Also please consider the reality before applying. A manager in his first season is extremely unlikely to get it. Due to the number of fans, being a Cardiff fan alone is unlikely to make your application stand out against the others.

Richard.

I would like to officially confirm my intrest in joining Cardiff City. It's clearly a club that is close to my heart and I hope that the Cagliari board and fans understand that is why I have applied.

As for achievents, I don't officially have much to show but I would say that I have always done pretty well on low resources. I have a very strong connection to some of the biggest clubs around and thier managers who I would like to think would endorse my application for the post at Ninian Park.

Although being a Cardiff Cty fan would not guarentee me the position, I would like to think that it would show that I really would have the clubs intrest at heart and that I would do everything possible to please the City fans as I am one of them!

I think that I could bring attacking football to South Wales and I think that I would bring in some balance to a side that hasn't been performing of late.

Thank you,

Steve Davies-Evans

I would like to put my name forward to be considered for the managerial vacancy at Cardiff City.

I have only been in the game for a short time but in that time I feel I have managed to achieve a great amount at Preston.

When arriving at Preston the club had only just come out of administration and the team were completely unbalanced and completely lacking any real quality.

However regardless of having no funds and no investment from the incoming chairman I have managed to turn Preston into a well balanced side challenging for the play-offs and promotion -  I achieved this by having a clear idea of where I wanted the club to go, working tirelessly in the transfer market and by making good contacts throughout the game.

If given the opportunity to take over at Cardiff I have no doubt that I possess the necessary skills, commitment and dedication to help save the club from there current plight and then help them back up the table with promotion to the Premiership the obvious goal.

I have very definite ideas of how to turn the club around both in the short term and for the future and would be grateful to have the
opportunity to speak with Mr Risdale and his fellow directors and tell them my plans which I have no doubt will convince them that I am the right man for the job.

Thank you
Mark

I am the ManchesterCity manager Luke Coakley and would like to apply for the CardiffCity job.

Achievements

Facts

Season one - Promotion Via the play/offs to the Premiership.
Season two - 8th place finish and safety
Season three -  Currently 7th

Season information

Season one I took over an unbalanced squad; there was a need for balanced quality throughout. The aim was to bring in good players with potential while recognising the need for results and promotion.  The plan was to get promoted and have a base of young players that could keep the club alive and strong enough in the premiership. Our play/off victory guaranteed Premiership football.

Season two This was the toughest season to date and the biggest learning curve of my career.  Young players alone were no longer enough so the squad was tweaked and safety guaranteed with room to breath with an 8th place finish. The squad continued to build towards a bright future with talented youngsters and experienced quality players to balance.

Season three so far
The chairman asked for a top 6 finish and I fully believe the club will complete his wish.  Again the squad needed tweaking to push his ambition but now with a good balance to the squad and an extra attacking threat with Etoo I fully expect this to be achieved. This season has also seen more attacking and sexy football at the City of Manchester Stadium.  Again we have continued to build for the future while realising the need for a team for today.

Why the board should consider me

Strengthens

  • I have managed in this division before and gained promotion.

  • I have stayed Loyal to ManchesterCity and never thought of leaving, making it clear that this is the only job I would ever consider.

  • I have a wide range of contacts in the game and plan to fully utilise them for CardiffCity.

  • I can rebuild a squad as shown at ManchesterCity.

  • Although I have had money to spend at ManchesterCity I can assure you this is not enough alone.  The ability to wheel and deal has to be used at every level to make a success of a club, this has been done at ManCity and will again be used for CardiffCity.

Future plans

Although I would like to model CardiffCity on the progress of ManchesterCity I dont think that this would be possible at this time.  Short term it is vital that the club stay up and consolidate and bringing in players simply for the future may not be enough alone.
After staying up we will then be looking to push the squad on and looking to gain promotion once we are in a stronger position.I plan is to stay at CardiffCity long term, so should the club be relegated we will continue to build for the future of the club and look for an instant return.

Commitment

This is the job I have been waiting for and leaving a job I love at ManchesterCity is a hard decision after so much work however I believe I can reform Cardiff into a team the City can once again be proud of.

I thank you for your time and should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Good applications so far. A decision will be made Thursday probably so any other interested managers will need to have applied by then.

I would like to put my name forward for the Cardiff City FC job

I have always tried to take an active role in the game with regular activity in the media pages and when dealing with other managers. I set up the very first feeder club a long time ago and I've turned that into a very successful feature of my management. Athletic Bilbao went from a struggling team to being the Spanish double winners the season they linked up with my team as our feeder club

In the old fa I spent my time at Southampton. I totally changed their team and moved them up the league until they were crowned champions. I really enjoyed my time in England and won the treble but regrettably I lost that group of players when the game changed

I have managed Sevilla in the new fa for two and a half seasons now. We broke into Europe finishing third in season one ahead of some of the much bigger Spanish teams and we came runners up in the cup to Real Madrid. Last season I won the double for Sevilla finishing above Barcelona and Real Madrid in the league and winning the cup. We had a great run in Europe last season and lost out to a very impressive Chelsea team in the final

I believe I have shown I'm capable of changing players to make a winning side. I have developed very good links with other clubs and Tony Wood and Adam Goble were both managers at my feeder clubs and have gone on to big things. I have always tried to offer any help I can to upcoming managers and I think the current three managers I have as my feeder clubs are an excellent selection of the next generation of fa greats. I have shown I can compete above what a club expects but I can also develop a team to keep performing well even when the targets increase because of this success

I now think the time is right to move to a new challenge and I have always said I would like to return to the English league for my next team. I can't profess to being a Cardiff fan but the loyalty and success I have shown at my last two clubs should show my commitment to whatever team I manage

I ask that if the Cardiff board consider my application they let me stay at Sevilla for the rest of this season. I think it would be unfair on the fans and the players to leave so close to the final stretch. I believe I can deliver again this season and we have dreams of something special happening in Europe. Even if we only make another final in Europe it's a huge success for a team of our size against much bigger teams and I want to be there one last time for Sevilla

Thank you

Stu
