Luke your first day in charge of Milan and a 3-3 draw, what can you take from this game? Its an interesting time of the season, Im new and still getting to know the players.I need to look at the players who are not retiring and try to see if they can fit into the way I like to play. At the same time I need to try and push the players to get back to third position and will need to use some of those retiring players in games. Its a balancing act but hopefully we can get it right and if we dont we must learn a lot from it.Today we tried a very attacking formation and I dont think the balance was right for the game so we move on and learn and try something new.We left out Shevchenko and still managed to score three so another positive.
Are you looking to make many changes to the squad for next season? I have already agreed to being Iniesta with me from my former club ManCity and he will give us another dimension.Ill be looking to bring in other players but if money isnt available then well have to wheel and deal in the market.Due to retirements we are pretty short in squad terms so it will be tough at the start. We hope to take full advantage of the loan market.
Spurs have announced former Spurs manager Chris Hanton, whats your view on his appointment? I think he is a good manager, we have spoke many times over the years and he knows his stuff.I think he built an excellent squad at Athletico, I dont think he took Spurs that extra level but by the sound of it him and the club just did not click.I hope he gets ManCity pushing forward now and I dont see any reason why he cant and I wish him well.
How do you see ManCity progressing now? I would expect them to push the top four, maybe with an investment to the top three as I think Liverpool are catchable. The chairman has always aimed high so I wouldnt be surprised to see him get a top three target.

Press..Did you think you would get such a bad reception ?
CH...Yes of course i did i left them 2 days before this game so i knew i was in for some stick, but i must say there were some supporters at the game that could see where i was coming from and they wished me all the best.
Press...How much did you enjoy getting the 3 points ?
CH...I enjoy getting 3 points anywhere but i would be a liar if i said i didn't enjoy getting one over them fans giving me a hard time,it was a great advert for the Premier league and a game that was full of missed chances and great goals.
Press...Who stood out for this afternoon ?
CH...The whole team played fantastic but i would have to say my man of the match was Aimar the guy ran the show in the centre of the park and Spurs could not cope with his passing and movement.
Press....Any luck in the transfer market yet ?
CH...Well i cant name anyone at this stage but 2 fantastic players have been offered to me and we are working on deals to get both of them in which im really excited about to be honest as they are both top draw players who could really take us up a level.
Press...Have you had any contact from former City boss Luke Coakley ?
CH...Funny enough Luke was the firts person to contact me and wish me luck which is nice but i knew he was after some of his former players but nothing is near doing there.
Press...Arsenal and Chelsea next up for you ?
CH...Yes nice and easy games to settle me in, We are going to travel down to Bisham abbey this week for a few days training and for me to get know the players and work on a few things for the last 2 games of the season, there is no reason why we cant take points of either side and thats what we will be trying to do.
Sky is the limit for Blues as Premier League looms.
Coventry City produced another scintillating performance this weekend to trounce a bewildered Southampton, whilst the result secured their place in the Premier League next season. It was a fitting way to confirm the Sky Blues promotion which has seen them stupefy their pre-season predictions they would be lucky to survive in Englands second tier. Quite whether Rollings side can continue their development and survive in one of the most competitive leagues in the world will be another story but fans will be delighted that their club will be welcoming the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United to The Ricoh Arena next term.
In an emotionally charged post-match interview Rollings expressed his delight and relief at sealing promotion.
"It is difficult to put into words what this means for this football club and I am proud and honoured to be involved. Everyone here has worked so hard to make this happen and we have earnt our chance to compete in the best league in the world next season. The boys have been fantastic and I am so pleased for the fans. They have supported us avidly this season and will be getting their rewards next season. I am also delighted for Ray (Ranson, Chairman) who has given sacrificed so much to get Coventry City to this point. I know there was a point this season when I considered my future at the club but you only have to look around you today to realise what a grave error it would have been for me to leave. I hope I have proved my commitment to Coventry City Football Club since. Inter Milan came in with a very attractive package to lead them into domestic and continental honours, but by then I had realised what a big mistake it would have been to leave (Coventry City)."
With speculation over the ownership of Coventry City still circulating Rollings may well find himself with a new boss at the start of next term. It is unknown as to whether Al-Fahim, head of investments company Adu Dhabi, was in attendance at Southampton this weekend but the billionaire would have been hard pushed not to have been extremely impressed by the midlands outfit. Rollings would not confirm or deny Fahims presence at St Marys, but did use the opportunity to ratify Ransons sentiments towards the investments supremo.
"Today could scarcely have been a better advert for this football club. 2,000 fans travelled down with us today and we secured promotion to Europes top league in sensational style. From an investments point of view, I am no expert but I would imagine we would now be quite an attractive package. We will be competing in the top league in the world and any investment would make a maximum impact. There has been a lot of talk about the pressure that such a massive investment would bring with it, but I dont feel the need of shying away from it because of that. Management is all about coping under pressure and I back my own ability to succeed. If someone was willing to put up the funds to turn us into a continental challenging team I am confident I could convert that investment into results."
Finally, Rollings reserved special praise for one of his biggest rivals, Watfords Jamie Walker, who this week decided to retire from the Football Academy world at the end of the season following a glittering career.
"Jamie and I have had some real battles, and some really intense exchanges. However, I am saddened by the news that we will not get the chance to renew our acquaintances next term. Jamies reasons for quitting are his own, and I know it cant have been an easy decision for him. He has had a phenomenally successful career and is a fine example for all managers and retires with the respect of all involved within the football academy world. I hope that one day someone can tempt him back into management and that we get to lock horns once again."
Ray Ranson shocked Coventry tonight by revealing he will sell the club this season, and could quit football next summer for good. Ranson said he had been thinking of walking away for weeks, after growing increasingly detached from the club following a high publicity relationship with his right hand man there. Even this announcement was not made by the man himself who has noticeably been shying away from the media attention on the club.
A representative of the club read out a brief statement regarding the reaction to the chairman's announcement. "We knew things were strained in places but this news has come as a shock to us. We hope Ranson can rediscover the love of the game that he admits he has lost in recent times."
Speculation is rapidly growing now that the Abu Dhabi company could be tempted into buying the club at a discount price with Ranson's desire for a quick exit apparent.
Manchester City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra has hailed a new and exciting era under Chris Hanton. The Thai owner had publicly criticised the ex-manager on announcing Hanton's appointment and seems to be keeping his comments in the press.
"The game against Spurs was fantastic and I really can get excited about our future. Chris showed he has a real head for the game by walking into the team and leading them straight to such an important win. I can feel it in my bones, next season will be memorable."
Iannotti who had been up for sale under the old regime and has been marked as available initially by Hanton grabbed two goals in the 4-3 thriller at White Hart Lane.
BBC Sport quickly spoke to former Manchester City manager Luke Coakley as he left his Milan home.
BBC - Thaksin Shinawatra has taken another dig at you in the media after Chris Hanton beat his former club Spurs this weekend, does his constant comments get to you?
Luke No not at all, in fact I seen the article and I dont agree he was having a pop at me. He is excited about the future at Manchester City and why shouldnt he as I left a great pool of players behind and they have a very good manager to move them forward. The only part of the article I find strange is that Ianotti was not part of my plans while at Man City as he was a very important member and was never transfer listed but that is poor journalism rather than Thaksin (Shinawatra) inaccuracy.
BBC but surely you are annoyed about the way he has backed Chris Hanton quite a bit already after one game but never made comment in your successful time at Manchester City.
Luke To be honest im trying to draw a line under this now. Im at Milan and rather annoyed that you are not asking me about my team, my plans and the future at Milan. I have left Man City and wish everyone at the club well but my focus is on Milan so these questions are pointless.

After slipping under the radar for a few days despite having captured the attention of football fans across Europe, a radio station has broken the news that the Abu Dhabi investment group have been spotted in Spain. Arriving at a hotel in the centre of Valencia, Sulaiman Al-Fahim and his fellow representatives were quick to slip inside their hotel without commenting.
As radio stations in the local area began buzzing with the news, and national stations rushed to get to the centre of the story, Al-Fahim re-emerged to make a short statement, possibly in the hope of a bit of peace and quiet.
"I plan on attending the Levante home match against Real Valladolid. We have not been awarded seats in the box so we will be soaking up the atmosphere in amongst the fans."
Norwich chairman Roger Munby has heaped praise on the manager today for what he describes as an excellent team that's been built under him. "We were lucky to attract a manager from Real Madrid and it's always nice to know the club has fans all over the world. Since he arrived he's built on what we had and we have a very threatening team going forwards. Healy and Fryatt are really looking exceptional up front for us; he's instilled some belief in them both."
With 12 points this season Norwich look set to have clawed their way to safety despite all the odds. Many believe this little family club are punching way above their weight still.
Real Zaragoza manager Richard Jefferies was pleased with the draw with Vigo last weekend but a little frustrated his team did not take all the points.
He said both teams had been a credit to Segonda division this year and he is looking forward to competing in la liga next year, Jefferies said "My players have been fantastic this season and young Adebayor has been fantastic up front with the expereienced Milito, I'm just hoping the chairman can find some funds during the break so that we can strengthen the squad to make challenging next season a possibility, we know it will be tough so one or two extra players with a bit more quality is really what we need"
AC Milan manager today admitted that next seasons success could depend upon the quality of loans he can get in. "We are working hard to bring in good loan players for the new season. If a club is willing to loan out players they generally want them played every game so we will be looking at good players of course. I have already contacted a few managers but at this stage of the season very few are willing to confirm anything but we will keep asking until we get the right answer. If clubs want to loan players to a great club like Milan they can always contact me as well and im always happy to talk to anyone. I have agreed to sign two players who are Iniesta and Walter Pandiani from Mallorca and both are at a good age and what a club like Milan needs however to get that type of quality we have had to lose 5 players so its obvious why we need the loan players. If we have a player in the youth set up that the reserve manager thinks is ready that is also a great bonus for us as we know we have a lot of talent." said Coakley
The former Manchester City manager also hoped for funds to add to the squad: "If money is available then great but if not then we continue and do not worry about it, the chairman has been at the club a lot longer than me so Im sure hell know what is best. We have three top players retiring which is a massive blow so they need replacing if the money is available and if not I hope the loan market can keep us in a strong position."

Real Betis chairman admitted today that he was distraught at the news that Dale Price wanted to leave the club after less than a season. Real Betis have struggled to find any form and have been the attention of the Spanish press throughout the season as their stars failed to live up to their price tags. Gomez, who has not once stated dissatisfaction to the form, was responding the Price's application for the soon to be vacant Watford job.
"I'm saddened by the news. We have backed Dale fully this season and we believed he was the manager to take us up next season and dispel this bad run. It greatly saddens me that he can't show the same loyalty back. We will have to sit down and make a decision about the clubs future."
Hours before the kick off of Betis's home game against Valencia, the home fans were already arriving at the stadium but not to show their support. A large group of fans were gathered outside the main gates to the ground with freshly made banners calling for the manager to be removed.
Fans of Betis have been disappointed throughout the season at the lack of leadership in the club, with numerous big names signed but no change in form. The recent draw with bottom of the league Real Mallorca, who had yet to earn a point this season prior to the game, added pressure to the managers shoulders but his announcement that he wants to move back to England seems to be the final straw with many loyal Betis fans.
A noticeable arrival at the ground while film crews were capturing the pre-match scenes was that of Jose Gomez's car pulling in through the crowds. Pundits are already speculating whether the manager will make it to tonight's match with Valencia in the rapidly declining climate about the club.
Bandres admits funds unavailable
Real Zaragoza chairman Eduardo Bandres has spoken to a local radio station about his managers recent comments about the need for funds too improve. Zaragoza are set to move into La Liga in two weeks time and Bandres admits new players are needed. "Our defence is decent for the level we're at currently but we could struggle next season against more superior attacks. While I agree with our manager, the club has no extra funds we can plough into the team at the moment. Hopefully the fans commitment over the season will give the manager some level of funds to help improve the players."
Wednesday planning for new season
Bernie Ecclestone has admitted he has begun planning for next season already. Sheffield Wednesday are 11th in League One and are only ahead of Nottingham Forest who had a points deduction for going into administration earlier in the season.
Cagliari and ex-Leicester boss Steve Davies-Evans has agreed to take charge at the end of this season and Ecclestone has made it known another investment is being prepared. "We invested £10 million in the previous manager and have been disappointed at where the money was used. We haven't seen an improvement and that isn't good enough. I agreed to put money in but you expect it to achieve results and not be frittered away. I was in meetings all today hammering out a plan for next season so we can put a figure to the incoming manager. We think we've come to a suitable figure and the fans have every reason to be excited about next season."
Newly appointed Sheffield United Manager Andy Fletcher, who joins directly after the close season in Spain is excited about the prospect of mixing it with local rivals.
Fletcher spoke after jetting in to put pen to paper to finalise the deal.
"Its a strange situation because I dont know what division Im going to manage in next year ! But which division we are in is not why I am here, United could secure a play off place this weekend and then the outgoing manager has to stay focused for the fans and players. However, if we dont make it then I have to pick up the pieces of that season and try again !"
"I see some serious investment at those in the divisions around us and it doesnt phase me. Ive worked on zero budgets before and I will asses who we have at the club, everyone will get a chance to show me their commitment and what they can do. I will then decide where we need to strengthen and use my contacts to bring in the best we can get."
"This is a massive club and with such huge history and success behind them we should really be challenging at the top of the table. My job will be to coach the players I have into believing they can achieve this"
As Fletcher headed back to finish the season and pack his bags in sunny Spain he wished the current manager, all the fans and players the best of luck in the final run in at Sheffield United.
" I have a job to do at Gimnastic so as a professional I am going to be focused on that, however, I will be watching the United game via a live feed kicking every ball. Good Luck"
Zaragoza manager Richard Jefferies is frustrated but understanding of his chairmans comments to local radio and hopes that the fact the entrance fee was cut this year and the improved attendencies will provide some income to his rebuilding plans.
We are going to need players so lets just hope we can have some money from this promotion season.
Real Betis manager Dale Price spoke tonight ahead of his teams game with Valencia about the news that he has applied for the job at Watford, price said Yes it is true that I have put my name forward for the Watford job, and was in England on Wednesday speaking to them (Watford), Bolton, Fulham and a team that I dont want to name as they have a manager at the moment about me returning to England next season When asked if the meetings went well price responded yes I feel I put myself over well and I hope to have a positive outcome from the meetings. One reporter asked if Dale has any future at Real Betis now that all this has come out Price said That is really not up to me is it that is something that Mr Gomez and the rest of the board to discuss, if I fail to get one of the jobs I have spoken about I hope to stay here at Betis and get them back up next season if I go I feel that I will have left them with a side that will walk the league next season. Price thanked the media for letting him give his side of the story and as he left the media were left wondering where his future lies.
