subs could be good, depends how the match engine works.
do players tire? if they do, bringing on fresh legs would make a difference, especially if the game goes to injury time. could bring on people ofr penalties as well?
I think this is a good idea, but like you said maybe very hard to introduce it.
It would be great for teams who have older players, for example if they have condition 8 you could opt to play them the first half only or bring on your top Striker if your losing against a weak team to save your bacon.
I think the way the game engine probably works having two subs would effectively run as 13 players v 13 players rather than replacements coming on during the game. Even if the game engine coped with this without significant re-writing it would massively favour teams with big squads and quality players in their reserves - so would just be an added increase in the gap for everyone else between top and the rest.
I just thought it makes it more real because the art of management is not just picking a team and good tactics but being able to change plans if things are not going well.
I understand how hard it might be to introduce but thought it was worth asking the question.
As for big squads, the lower league teams have just as many players as the top teams.
Well firstly, the poll suggests the majority of managers don't even want substitutes so that makes the second point easier.
The second point is it is difficult to include how the engines set up to run. It would take a lot of work to bring in substitutes and even then it would be limited to half time changes but it wouldn't be based on winning or losing, you'd have to say I want to bring an extra defender on at half time, or whatever. I don't think managers who want substitutes would want it like this.
However this would take a lot of work to include, and I've various upgrades which take priority over any of that in the near future.

Yeah they do have as many players but "quality players in their reserves" was the key point!
I think that Sub's would be a good idea but to do this when sending your team sheet in, Pick subs for when- 20 mins to go, A goal down, A goal up, Yellow cad red card etc... and pick 3 options and 3 subs for each one's. Anyone else agree ?
