Hello Chaps

Bit of background info for you. The way the BTO system works for cup finals is that all participating teams are placed into a new custom league set aside for the cup finals

As this is the first time I have ran it this way - the odds generated are pretty standard - but results as they continue will be cumaltive - so the more times you compete in the later stages of the cup when we run BTO - the better the odds will be taken into account based on form and previous results

Ill also be running odds for the European Cup final, and for each of the leagues playoff final matches. Im not going to do all the playoff semi finals, unless there is a massive outcry and you gamblers cant get enough - so if the need is great for you - make your feelings known! :)

cheers

Good point Pricey

All bets on teams to win are applicable to the final outcome of the match irrelevant of extra time / penalties

All bets on teams to draw are applicable untill the end of 90 minutes only

Yes I know it's 3 minutes late, but I literally haven't been able to get on since it was put up. Whatever

Late is late at the end of the day, whether it be 3 minutes or 53 minutes!

I thought it was pretty funny :)

Sorry to be a pain in the arse - but both bets cant count im afraid - clear in the rules chaps

ANY editing of posts = void bet
ANY bet after the deadline = void bet

REPEATED offences of either of the above = 2 week Ban from betting

I dont think its that hard to stick to the rules as I tend to have all the bets up on the monday by monday night. If you are at work or something and cant get on the board - send me an email or PM - i dont mind - but posting after the deadline seems like a weak excuse to me personally - plenty of other people manage it just fine :) if everyone does there betting before thursday there really isnt a problem is there?

I think that is fair to stamp it out early and then I dont have to be the Beat the Odds posting Police :)

cheers all

Yeah I know Pricey. It was from Week 6, but I thought I'd quote it so it would re-iterate the fact that ANY late posts should be void!

Ah I see what you mean

I always have it in my head that the teamsheet deadline is 5pm (and hence BTO deadline is the same). But I think we established it was techincally 4pm a few weeks ago

I honestly have no idea what the teamsheet deadline is for Monday night games - so ive asked Rich - the answer will determine whether Simon's post are late or not really as BTO just mimics the main FA deadlines

Sorry if it goes against you Simon J but rules are rules. I do have some sympathy for you in this case though as this is in essence a special midweek BTO

Your fellow managers dont seem so forgiving though........................................ :)

Its no hassle really - I keep excel sheets of results and tables - so its ony a copy and paste job from week to week

And I like to leave it in to remind people who the stupid managers with no financial sense are (myself included..........!) :)

We can easilly do the amounts for and against and ill edit when the tables go up on the board - no worries

I dont mean to be harsh on Simon J, but other people have seen there bets void due to late postings, and as you say rules are rules, and it cant be one rule for one, and another rule for others.

But we shall wait for Rich's response, as you seem to think the deadline for Monday night games are 5pm

Don't know if this helps Simon N but below is a copy of the 'submit teams' section of the rules:

Forms should be submitted by Friday 4 PM for league matches, and by Monday 4 PM for cup matches (if specified on the site) with the team selection on and other details for the week. Any forms submitted after this deadline could be classed as invalid so you run the risk of having a default team selected for you. If no team is submitted before your match is played, a team will be picked by the game and you lose all control over players and tactics for that match. If the manager is unhappy with the default team picked then tough - it is your own fault if no team is picked without prior notice.

Cheers Killer - must have overlooked that bit

Sorry Simon J - but that looks pretty difinitive to me

As mentioned I have some sympathy as we dont all do Cup BTO very often - but rules are rules - and I have been strict in the past and have to continue that

The irony is that im sure I have missed a deadline on FA once or twice in my playing days - and sometimes Rich has cut me some slack on a teamsheet deadline if for example he hadnt starting running the games yet - I wonder how many of your fellow managers would be so keen to stick to the rules in that event lol

BTO Betting Police can once again go back in their box - matter solved

cheers

Sim

I agree with you Nr Newcombe it does seem harsh over a matter of minutes but if I remember correctly I think Simon J was one of the managers who pointed out the deadline last time we had late bets and had to void them - still I suppose there has to be a cut-off point

Yeah agreed Mark

I think the reason its harsh in this case (other than it being a matter of minutes) is that I dont do the midweek BTO very often if at all - and since everyone has had less time I have more sympathy with a little late bets

normally people have had all week to do it - but in this case - its a matter of a day and a half - but you cant argue with the rules (thats what they are there for after all) and the general consensus of competing managers is to void the bets (heartless people lol) based on what has occured in the past

My only argument against this is considering this is a mid week special - perhaps the outcome should be based more on the past history of midweek BTO than the regular weekly one?

anyway - Simon J is a big boy and im sure he wont lose too much sleep over it

cheers all

Newcs

I cant see it happening myself (sorry Mark!) but this will all be so amusing if Sampdoria pull off a shock and actually beat Juve................................... :)

Sizzler will rocket straight to the top of the leaderboard without even betting lol
