Just curious - he's a decent enough player and on a free I dont know why someone like Portsmouth haven't bought him. He'd be a darn sight better than Crouch was.
I am not sure I would agree with you on that one. Although I am a Hibs fan I have seen a bit of him and he hasn't been great over the last couple of seasons. But that could be down to Strachan not utilising him properly. Strachan had a knack of getting the worst out of players. Personally I would say that JV of H will go back to Holland.
I do support Cardiff but I spread my loyaltys between them and Valencia. I doubt I could choose between them. Although dispite the lack of interst Spanish football gets over here I'm more clued up on their team than Cardiff's lol! And I pay more attention to the Premiership than the Championship so it's easier for me to pick my Premiership fantasy team!
Cardiff's strikeforce look good and if they can hold onto their players for the last bit of the transfer market then they'll be very good. I would say they could challenge for promotion - particularly after the match between Newcastle and West Brom. They're supposed to be the main competition and fankly they were both poor.
There's plenty of Cardiff fans on here that could give better thoughts on the team than me!
England should have got stuffed in first half. Wales are improving, Goof youth coming through. Ireland need big time improovements, Meanwhile Austrlia seem to be one's to look out for at the world cup. Andd Scotland, Well
I watched the Wales game instead of the England game but it sounded as if they should have been hammered. A full Holland squad should have beaten England easily - did they put out a full squad?
Did you see the disallowed Carew goal in the Scotland goal? I thought it was in the first time I saw it and when they watched the replay!
I though Montenegro were better than Wales. I didn't watch the second half so I dont know how well they played then but I wasn't fussed on how they played in the first half.
I reckon Ireland have had it - I wouldn't be surprised to see Northern Ireland overtake them in terms of how well they do in competitions and the like...
With only a couple of weeks left of the (real life) football season, what's people's opinions and predictions for the top and bottom of the Premiership and Championship?
Not really GG - not only did people want a general chat thread for ages, but someone (Tez? cant remember) was complaining that nothing's going on this time of the season and this thread is hardly being used to it's full potential.
It takes, what, 60 seconds to write a reply. It's nice to see so many people bothering.
Sinky - You wont be playing Cardiff next year. We are also going up via the playoffs !
Simon - Chelsea for the title, Pompey, Burnley and West Ham to go down. Spurs for 4th place.
As for the Championship, Newcastle and West Brom are up. Cardiff to beat Forest in playoff final. Relegated - Peterboro,Plymouth and Watford. Im enjoying watching the relegation fight in the Championship. I think its going to go right down to the wire
I hope cardiff dont go up because Norwich tend to do well against you guys haha even in our demise we got 4 points off you i really hope sheffield wednesday go down though i really can not remember the last time we beat them they are our bogie team and hate it when we have to play them
I hope Arsenal win the title and I hope Tottenham get 4th place and I hope West Ham go down Burnley and Portsmouth are already doomed in my opinion
Championship Newcastleand west brom will go up in the top two the play-off i think will stay the same maybe doncaster or blackpool sneaking 6th place but i don't care who goes up as long as it isn't Nottingham Forest their fans are just as bad Leeds fans we were a big club we're better than all of the teams in the championship because we've won the european cup no one cares anymore the only teams i hate more than Forest are Wolves Leeds and then of course Ipswich
Plymouth and Peterbrough are going down I hope Palace don't because they were fine until ten points deduction so Watford or Sheffield Wednesday to go down hopefully Wednesday though
It's hard to believe that Norwich are where they are considering the start of the season they had. Still, Spurs did the same thing in the Premiership.
Arsenal to win the title... Really? Their team is stretched very thin as it is and yesterday's game against Barcelona has done nothing to help their injury list. I don't know how serious Rooney's ijury is but at the very least he'll miss the game against Chelsea and that'll be enough to drop them out of the title race because after all Man U are a one man team.
The battle for fourth will depend on whether Man City's win against Wigan was a sign that their luck's turned around. If they stay on the form they've been having in the games just before Wigan, then Spur's will pip them to 4th.
As for championship play-off, I think it'll be between Leicester, Swansea and Cardiff. Whoever is on form at the time will win. Yeah that's a cop out answer but it's so tight.
Thanks for Marshall aswell Sinky, Best keeper Cardiff have had in years. I really think he is quality and dont understand how Norwich went down with him in goal. Defence must have been awfull
Marshall had a changing defence week in week out ahead of him but he made a few mistakes that costs us points and tbh i'd rather have fraser forster in goal who has made one mistake but if you had seen some of the saves he's made they are premiership class
I heard that bloke is supposed to be good, aint seen much of him yet.. Marshall, some saves he made are great. I think he was a bargain buy, worth every penny!
But will Grant Holt do it next year ? Im not so sure. Talking about bargain strikers, Ross McCormack for us has been a bargain find. Dave Jones has found some crackers from Scotland mind with Kev Macnaughton, Chris Burke, Ross and now Marshall doing well. Even Paul Quinn has been ok for the last couple of games and seems to have settled and now found his feet. Shame about Gavin Rae tho. How he made a footballer in the 1st place baffles me
