The manager of Atalanta, Terry Manifold did make himself available for a quick interview after the latest disappointing display on the pitch.
TM.
If I could have got my hands on a hairdryer I would have blown them away. I dont speak much Italian but I think they could see I was not happy. I am beginning to wonder if something is being lost in the translation. They are just going through the motions and it is not good enough. I have brought in a couple of players and I know it takes time but, this was a match for the taking.
Press.
Where do you go from here?
TM.
We need to reflect on today and look towards next week. If I cant change the mindset and get them fighting I may have to look towards team building for next season, which is something I did not want to do at this stage. I am so angry.
Press.
Have you thought of buying your way out of trouble?
TM.
I think about it all the time, but, there is no money and to sell to generate some, only gives me a poorer setup than I have today. No the answer is in the motivation at this stage. I aim to try the stick & carrot approach. They have had the stick and now it is carrots all week.
With that Terry left the room to try and pick up a demoralised team.
