More than one manager has come to me recently to suggest an idea for this seasons BTO.
Due to the deadline of 4pm and the fact that early posters are often hindered by the fact that others can copy what you see as clever bets - would people prefer a different setup?
Id really appreciate people voting on this as its quite an important change
Is there a way were we can submit a post but nobody else see it apart from an administrator? E.g. you and the person who submitted the post, its easier for you rather than checking all these emails.

But then if only Simon and the person who posted could see that specific post, then Simon would have an advantage over everybody, as he would be the only one who could see everyones bets?
well what if peopled e-mailed me as I wasn't gonna take part this year. It would then be fair.
I would set up an seperate e-mail address. If everyone is happy with that I will post the new e-mail address at somepoint tonight. I would have to recevie the e-mails by 4 on the Friday or they are voided as usual

Do you still want to do closed betting for Beat the Odds?
If so how do you want to do it:
1. Deadline remains Friday 4pm with the results posted on the weekend after the weekly update.
or
2. Deadline is moved forward to Thursday 4pm with everyone bets for that week posted in BTO on the Friday followed by the results posted on the weekend after the weekly update
Let me know what you think and I will post the e-mail address.
Cheers Mark

Email seems to be a fairer way of doing it. I dont like the idea of moving the deadline forward to Thursday as sometimes the odds go up late in the week - on which note are there odds for this week somewhere??
If it is decided to go ahead with the closed betting to stop all the tactical copy bets that were placed last year (mentioning no names Mr Newcombe), then all bets will need to be sent by e-mail.
It just needs to be decided whether people would like to see what others have bet once the deadline has passed and before the results are published. If thats the case I think it might easier to bring the deadline forward 24 hrs.
Anyway I am happy to do it either way, just let me know what you would prefer
BTO has been delayed a bit this week due to the birth of my bro's kid (which doesnt happen that often). Im doing them now - so theyll be up witin the hour
It seems to me that with a 61.2% vote on keeping it how it is currently, no one actually wants a rule change - but thanks for going to the trouble Mark
