PRICE SPEAKS OF A PROUD DAY IN HIS CAREAR

SSN Mr Price what a result bet you didnt think that would happen?

DP It was a great day for the club I thought we may get a draw but we smashed them they couldnt cope with us and I thought it was one of the best games I have managed.

SSN Martyn Waghorn got two goals this week he is some player yeah?

DP Yeah the Wag (Waghorn) has been fantastic so far this season he is carrying on what he was doing last season. I have high hope for the lad and I think he can live up to his potential.

SSN Mr Price Sunderland has now gone 11 games without loss what have you put this down to?

DP I think its a combination of things the team wanting to win and get up the leagues, the quality of our front line, defenders struggling to cope with that front line, Iain Hume has been a very good player for us he has set up and scored a load of goals I feel that even though we spent a lot of money on him its been worth every penny so far

SSN So Bolton in the cup now are there going to be changes to the team for this match?

DP Yes there will be at least 4 changes to the side our aim this season is to get in the play-offs so if we go out of the cup its not the worst thing in the world Marek Hamsik will be making his debut thats for sure

SSN This week saw you and your mate Glenn Whitter meet for the first time was it good to get the win over him?

DP Yes it was fantastic that I got the points not Glenn I could hear him in the changing room I bet he was tamping with his team.  The best part of the day was the all the Sunderland fans were doing the silly thing that Glenn does with his wrist and that stupid smurf hat that Glenn had on me and my assistant stood there and said look at Glenn by ere ana HAHA

SSN Thanks for taking the time to speak with us Mr Price good luck in the cup this week.

DP Thanks

Chelsea manager John Brady speaks with ESPN

Maximum points from opening two games, you must be happy?

"I am delighted with the start we have had, especially as it hasn't been the easiest of starts with both Liverpool and Arsenal. The Arsenal game was pleasing as we lost in the semi-final to them last season. Rossi had an excellent game as did Marcelo. I am beginning to wonder if Marcelo should replace Robben as a winger as he just seems to bang in the goals. Robben is no defender, but he has more defensive qualities than Marcelo. It is a very strange situation but it appears to be working thus far"

You have newly promoted Middlesborough in the next match. How do you see that one?

"It won't be easy, that is for sure. I had them watched against Liverpool at the weekend and they were unlucky not to leave with a point. Although Liverpool are going through transition at the moment they still have a lot of quality. So to run them close as Middlesborough did will make us wary."

You brought in Diakite from Lazio. Will he be part of the first team?

"He will be part of the first team as he is an excellent young defender. He is one of three new players that are coming to the club. Next week we are bringing in a promising young striker and the following week we will be joined by an experienced defender that will fit in well with our attacking style. However, in order to bring in these players we have to move some of our players on. There are a few changes but I am confident that the fans will be treated to some great football in the coming weeks."

"I shall now leave it to you in the media to work out who is coming in. Cheers."

Charlton Takeover

Simon Newcombe today officially took over the reigns as Charlton chairman. In a takeover believed to be worth £5 million, the ex-Arsenal manager is thought to have bought the London club to keep connections with the English capital, having moved to Spain at the start of the season.

Charlton have confirmed Newcombe will commute from Spain whenever he has business in London and will come to watch the club "whenever he isn't busy with management". Newcombe is believed to be unveiled to the Charlton fans later this week.

The club have struggled financially in recent seasons and are thought to carry a debt close to £20 million owed to a national bank. Fans will be hoping Newcombe can stabilise the once popular club while also addressing the issue of the vacant managers seat.

Fulham Takeover

Parma manager Chris Hanton has taken overall control of Fulham tonight following a bidding war against fellow Italian based Luke Coakley. Fulham have been hit with heavy debts in the last year however fans had already felt things were turning around following the appointment of Dave Davies-Evans as manager at the end of last season. Davies-Evans has already claimed the club will be debt free before Christmas which is likely to please new owner Hanton.

Fans are hopeful Hanton will keep Davies-Evans in place at Fulham despite rumours than brother Steve Davies-Evans could be in for a shock re-appointment to football is Chris Hanton decides to axe the current manager. Press conferences from both manager and new chairman are expected shortly.

Leicester Takeover

Steve Jenkins has completed the takeover of Leicester City for a nominal fee this week. Jenkins currently manages Serie A challengers Juventus but is thought to have been attracted by the lack of debt at Leicester and fans will be hoping for a period of growth under his ownership following a turbulent few years which resulted in the previous owner walking out at the end of last season.

New to management last season, Ben Gregory has already begun putting his stamp on the side although some local newspapers have begun to speculate whether Jenkins will axe the current manager in favour of someone with more experience. Neither manager nor chairman has commented yet but reports suggest press conferences are imminent.

Press -You mentioned manager!  is Dave Davies-Evans job safe ?

CH - "Yes 100%. he has done a fantastic job with them since taking them over at the end of last season, he has had a very tough job on his hands with the clubs debt but has worked around that and got the team playing and just got on with it, we have had a chat about whats going on and how we can sort the club out together"

Press - Whats the  number1 goal for Fulham ?

CH - " It has to be get the club running debt free and then build from there, Dave has been doing his bit and has a plan in place to take that even further, I will be putting some money in this season to clear some of the debt and then if need be next season will clear any remaining debt or cash into the club transfer kitty"

Press - What about the playing field side of things ?

CH - " Well im pleased to say over the next few weeks there will be at least 3 new players coming in to boost the squad with quality as I understand My manager has agreed some deals to sell  to raise some cash, but before you ask im not naming them that's up to Dave!

Press - Any message for the fans ?

CH - "Come and see the boys play as every one of you makes a difference and I give you my word that at Craven Cottage you will see attacking football and a team that gives 100% "
