Cardiff

Whilst I am aware that the Cardiff City currently have a manager I have decided to pass my FA CV over to Cardiff City for future reference and to reaffirm my position of being available for this job.

Luke Coakley - Achievements to date

Man City season information-
Season one  - (Championship)
I took over an unbalanced squad; there was a need for balanced quality throughout. The aim was to bring in good players with potential while recognising the need for results and promotion.  The plan was to get promoted and have a base of young players that could keep the club alive and strong enough in the premiership. Our play/off victory guaranteed Premiership football.

Season two  (Premiership) This was the toughest season to date and the biggest learning curve of my career.  Young players alone were no longer enough so the squad was tweaked and safety guaranteed with room to breathe with an 8th place finish. The squad continued to build towards a bright future with talented youngsters and experienced quality players to balance.

Season three (Premiership) The chairman asked for a top 6 finish and this was achieved a number of weeks before the end of the season and before I left to join Milan.  I left the squad with a mixture of top quality players of varying ages but with a good base of very talented youth.

AC Milan (overview)

I took over Milan as an aging squad and no longer in a European competition. They averaged an attendance of just 1000, had an unhappy chairman and a season loss. The board are now a lot happier with the club, the club sell out with 20,500 every game and now have a projected operating profit of 2.7m for the coming season.

I took over a vastly aging squad at Milan and managed to reduce that age while improving the squad quality and continuing progression.  I returned the club to Europe in my first full season together with a respectable league position in my season of rebuilding. The squad has continued to improve and now challenge in Europe to at least the quarter finals consistently and have also now built a solid top two league place with a large gap between the top two and the chasing pack. The club has a lot of quality and a lot of young players ready to join to keep the rebuilding going while keeping the experienced pros.

Plan at CCFC

I have managed in the Championship before, gained promotion and kept the club up and gaining a top 6 premiership finish this will be more a short/medium term plan at Cardiff city while long term would be challenging for trophies and challenging to get into the top European cup.

I have a long term plan for Cardiff City which I believe would make them a very strong premiership force in the coming years.I believe the current squad has a good age and a good amount of quality for promotion next season (should the club get relegated this season).I would be looking to tweak the squad so it would be in a position to stay in the premier league once promoted which I believe will be inevitable. My plan is to vastly improve the stadium and would expect the Cardiff City Stadium to be close to its maximum of 44,000 within the 3 year plan while sustaining premiership status.I have never missed an FA target and always look to push ahead of those targets. The club will have my undivided attention.I would not expect any investment from the chairman.

Commitment

This is the third time I have applied for the job as I know it is a job that I can do with great success.I also sold Fulham football club to enable to me once again apply for this job. I have only managed at two clubs and am not the type of manager who gets unsettled or leaves a job without knowing I have done a good job. I can guarantee that you have my commitment to Cardiff City for as long as I am wanted at the club and while the chairman still believes progress is being made.  For me the job will not be complete until we are winning major honours every season and while this will not happen over night I believe over time this is a long term target that we need to aim for, this club deserves to be aiming for the highest.  I am happy to take a minimal wage until premiership football is assured. .

I would like to apply for the Cardiff City manager job. I believe I am the ideal replacement for Huw due to my passion for the club and the football game alone.

After just missing out on promotion with Reggina last season, this season has been flawless and I believe with 3 seasons with Cardiff top 3 can be achieved.

Regards,

JOP

I can see me wishing a few people luck on this one but to start it off good luck Jop. Done very well at Reggina and no doubt would progress Cardiff too.
