Watford manager Richard Jefferies spoke to the press immediately after the great win over Man City.
Q. You must be pleased with todays result and the season so far ?
RJ. Yes we feel things are going very well, we are in the 1/4 finals of the EUFA cup and things are going reasonably well in the league, it was great to get 3 points today as most of our closest rivals didn't have a good week.
Q. Are you happy with your squad.
RJ. On the whole yes, we have a good squad with a good mix of youth and experience. We are going to lose a couple at the end of the season but hopefully we can bring in a couple too.
Q. You must be delighted with the form of the Torino side that you are chairman of.
RJ. Yes young Callum has really got them going now and is showing what a good young manager he is. Think Ray at Lazio may have tried to rest one too many players today and has suffered by being held by the young Torino team. A great Result.
Q. Thanks for giving us your time it would be nice for this to be more regular again.
RJ. Yes sorry guys it has been a busy time at Watford and with the Torino tie up but hopefully should be able to be back to weekly press conferances again soon.
Following Sienas defeat at the weekend their manager, Terry Manifold, is back where he was in the league table. Whilst the team has had a reasonable run of late Terry still feels that the squad is just short of Serie A rating. I am told the club are watching a few players with the hope of adding to the squad.
My source tells me that
Evertons LB Antononino Barilla,
Cadiz CM Joaquim Millan
and Alessandro Tamai of Recreativo Huelva are all being looked at as potentialsforpossible offers in the future.
I know that Terry has found communicating with some league managers very disappointing with most approaches just not getting an acknowledgement. This situation does not apply to the managers from those just mentioned.Player exchange with added money was being talked about.
