Mark Galeozzi - Liverpool finished two points clear at the top of the Premiership after taking advantage of Chelsea's 4 draws this season in the league. The Premiership title added to the English Cup although the feat of beating League One Sheffield Wednesday in the final was less impressive than their league form. In Europe Liverpool struggled with the step up from UEFA Cup to European Cup football.
Luke Coakley - Cardiff were the newly promoted side this season after winning the Championship last year. Although their squad was more than capable of survival not many would have tipped them for a 5th place finish ahead of teams like Manchester City. The only negative was a 2nd round defeat in the English Cup to relegated Coventry.
