Simon Jenkins - Real Valladolid defended their league title finishing 3 points above Barcelona, then winning the Spanish Cup final against Athletic Bilbao, and the European Cup final against Juventus. The quadruple was completed with the win over last seasons UEFA Cup winners Liverpool in the Super Cup.
Stuart Price - Valencia were expected to finish in the top half but they managed to hang onto 3rd place just in the final few weeks finishing above the likes of Real Madrid and Sevilla. In the Spanish Cup they reached the semi-finals before being knocked out by Real Valladolid, while in the European Cup they also made the semi-finals losing to Juventus.
Paul Harrington - Atletico Madrid left their charge up the table a little too late but came in 4th just a win outside the top 3. In the Spanish Cup they disappointed going out in Round 3 to Athletic Bilbao, but in the UEFA Cup they reached the final losing out to Genoa.
Jonnie Adams - More was expected of last seasons shock newly promoted outfit but again they over achieved coming 6th a comfortable 10 points above 7th place. They reached the final of the Cup losing to quadruple winners Real Valladolid, and in the UEFA Cup they reached the semi-final losing to Atletico Madrid in an all Spanish tie.
