It really is so, football has lost a legend but the world has lost a good, genuine human being which is becoming rarer and rarer.
RIP

absolutely devastating, you'd normally feel this way after a friend or relative dying.. going to be a massive lost for everyone.

I knew Gary from a couple of dinner parties we had in Chester over the last 12 months, and a night out the day before he was announced as the Wales manager. Very sad, can't quite believe it, RIP Gary.

It shows how well respected he was that it has devastated the whole footballing world, not just the Welsh people or the fans of clubs he played for, but everybody involved in football and sport in general are stunned and saddened by the news. Thoughts go out to his family, RIP Gary.

Do you know what, I know other games went ahead, but I dont feel like putting a team sheet through this week, can I suggest a weeks break in respect of Wales manager and someone I knew ?

I dont agree with a weeks break. Thoughts are with his family at such a tough time, but its got nothing to do with this game

A great shock, after seeing him on Football Focus.   The reaction to his passing shows what a great man he was.

Such a sad loss - RIP Gary

I feel very sorry for everybody who has been touched by Garry's death but, I agree with Gareth. It has nothing to do with this game.

Will you offer the same for a Nottingham Forest Manager or indeed my best friend?

Perhaps yes, but as this game is largely Welsh input then I thought it may be appropriate.

If it was an accident or something id probably agree with you Fletch (and yes it was a nice thought from you)
But (and this is the part your not going to like) I cant help but feel that suicide is the most selfish thing one human being can do. To leave loved ones to pick up the pieces. Face all the rest of the cynics who have their own, and sometimes sick opinion as to why they would do such a thing? To leave behind dependants not knowing how long they will grieve you, and what effect it will have on their lives, seems incomprehensible!!

I can only assume,(and please God, will never experience) that it has to be such a chemical imbalance inside, that you are simply not in control of your own mind! If so, could it happen to anyone?

My prayers go to his soul, and to his friends and family. I hope he can rest in peace, but having a child myself, will never understand why!

Apologies if this offends anyone at this emotional time, but I feel compelled to voice my thoughts

No, I agree with you Gareth to be honest. However I think once you get to that state then you cant see those things, even basic tasks seem difficult to manage, however, some people I'm told with depression can function on the outside quite normally but underneath they are crying out.

Tragic news I was stunned when I heard the news I watched him on football focus on the saturday and he seemed in good spirits thoughts go to his close friends and family.

The circumstances around his make it even more tragic.

RIP Gary Speed

Moving tribute today to Gary Speed, the Welsh anthem as the players came out was very special, but I welled up when Speeds dad came and stood in the centre circle for the applause, totally heartbreaking.

RIP Gary, we will miss you.
