I read an article that u wrote Richard about adding more leagues and i think u should add the Scottish League so i can maybe get the chance to manage my team Rangers, when is it ur thinking of doing this?
There's potential to add another couple of leagues to the game at the moment. However there is also room for the engine to be passed onto someone else so that they can set up a new group of leagues and we can run half the game each, thereby doubling the size of the game. Thats the potential for future growth.
In terms of leagues, the old game had the Scottish Premiership and was generally very unpopular with only a handful of managers playing there. Because of that, I'm not sure theres a demand for that league and as such its below the likes of a South American league, and Dutch league and so on which would all be more competitive and likely to be more popular.
American league??,a thought u would of attracted more people to a scottish league than an american 1 but maybe its the beckham influence ,what would i no,suppose if it failed before there would b a doubt to put it up again, cheers for the reply Richard.
Obviously if there was a sudden rush of Scottish fans all joined the game and were all active, then it would go up the pecking order as there would be a demand for it. At the moment I'd guess there are probably 2 or 3 managers left from the old Scottish league, plus yourself, who would be interested. 4 people for a 12 team league doesn't really work.
I wouldn't introduce a US league because I doubt anyone would be interested except for in LA Galaxy of course. A South American league would include teams like Santos, Boca Juniors, Sao Paulo, River Plate... Think of the Copa Libertadores but in a league format.
Richard.

German,Scottish,Dutch the list goes on,they would all make great leagues aslong as we had the members to fill them and at the moment we still havnt filled up the leagues we have,a mite hav a couple of new friends coming on this in the next few weeks but if Football Academy expands am sure Richard will pick the best leagues.
when you mention getting someone else to help run some leagues - how would it work exactly?
I would be more than happy to run leagues - but wouldnt want to stop playing the existing game as Arsenal Manager. Could the game engine be given out in such a way that we dont learn too much about how it works and so could continue with an existing team?
Or do you simply mean getting an extra administrator to run the extra leagues?
FA won't expand unless I think theres demand for new places on the game. There's no point having leagues with no one in obviously. But hopefully with word of mouth FA will continue to expand. 2 years ago it was just a third of the size it is now which is why I need leagues in mind should expansion be needed.
Simon to answer your question simply, yes it would need an extra administrator really. You could run the game without seeing the mechanics of the engine but they would be a click away and I don't think people would feel happy if the other admin was still playing when he/she had access to all the workings. This is one of the two issues; the admin would have to drop their team, and I would have to feel confident they were totally reliable in that updates would be regular and the engine was not simply 'pinched'. Obviously the first issue is more pressing for people thinking about helping out.
I agree point one is important for current managers, but personally think your second point is more important. So many people may start with good intentions, but end up leaving. Or it could simply be that someones circumstances can change, free time becomes left etc
Also agree that untill you have managers to fill the slots theres no need for the extra leagues
What about an Iceland league (no folks I'm not joking!!) I would be more than willing to join AI, and I am sure that my current job would be snapped up quickly.
I just suppose it will be down to who else will join me.
