I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this but I'm not fussed on the system that we use for signing players that have been released by other clubs. It seems that if your in League one like I am - I'm never going to get a player on a free as the Premiership clubs will pick them up just to add strength to their squad.
I just wish there was some way that we could even it out so that we all get a chance to sign a player. Maybe all the teams that have said they want to sign him could go into a hat and one be draw out at random? At least that way - We all get the same chance
I see your point here but the way the system is its to simulate what would happen in real life,if u were a free agent as a player and were out oh contract and say Leeds came in for u and Man utd, what team would u choose,u would go with the bigger team of course thats the way its made out aswel on this game, hope that helps
This was mentioned yesterday in another thread. My reply is included below:
You'll see this has been addressed in the new game, although the effects won't have been noticed yet. A 22 man squad limit has been brought in and fitness/injuries have been adjusted. As such people are likely to need a squad more than they did in the old game.
However managing the squad will now be more difficult. People who fill their 22 squad with people like Wright - free agents they want to sell on - then chances are they won't have room for young players after a short while. Young players will only come through at clubs with room for them.
Given time, I expect people to become very picky about who they bring in as big clubs won't be able to carry players in their squad who can't contribute, and are likely to be forced into releasing young players they think won't make it at the top level. These youngsters should filter down into the lower divisions where they will get the games, and improve. Maybe they'll improve enough to be sold back to the top clubs there by making smaller clubs a profit.
That's the hope, as that would represent real life youth academy players in most cases.
Maybe an active manager that sends in media tho might be prefered? A quality manager sometimes attaracts players of quality because of who they are despite the division in real life.......

Thats what im saying anyway, it shouldnt matter how big the club is but more how active the manager is. If Sir Alex dropped down a division im sure he'd attact better quality players than Mick McCarthy. Someone who sends in media and a manager who has generally done well with his squad should maybe go ahead of a big club with a manager who has been less active.

maybe teams could offer a 'signing on fee' to a free agent. there would be no set price but managers could offer whatever they wanted, whether it be £100k (the minimum divisible spend available on the FA rules) or £5m. Then the team that offers the most gets him. Free agents are still therefore within the reach of smaller clubs who can surely afford to pay £100k
just an idea
thanks

That idea could be used, as the Foreign Player Market will be introduced soon. Players who are released could be put into the Foreign Player Market but the teams with money are likely to have first dibs then anyway I think as they'll have more money.
get the foreign player market on soon please i need some good players!!!
i agree that the bigger teams will have more money but will they want to 'waste' any of it, even £100k, on a player that will never play for them on the slight chance they might be able to sell him on??
