Just a quick note. People may notice a few things looking slightly different with the next update of the site.
This isn't anything major for the moment and is just me rearranging certain things and laying the groundwork for some potential changes later on leading into next season, such as the extra match information mentioned in the "Season 5" thread in Upgrades.
This weeks results won't be up until Saturday now but hopefully with the changes, I can add a few more time saving shortcuts that, even with my increased work commitments, will hopefully help get results up Friday evenings every week. We can but hope.
Richard.

The site has now updated with the team sheet new layout on. It's actually back to how the old game team sheets were set up as some of you will notice. I'm obviously interested to see what people think of every change I make to the game although when commenting on this latest change try to weigh up;
- the fact that this is maybe less clear cut in not seperating first 11 from reserves, - against hopefully a game engine that can cut 1-2 hours off processing times for league matches.
It also is a stepping stone towards introducing additions like extra match data but rather than do one big upgrade I'm doing it in stages. This also allows me to tweak anything based on what comes out of the comments.
To be honest i didnt like the team sheets at first but now thinking about it, It gives managers another tatical advantage because teams you are playing can not veiw your formation. Also it will make it harder for Jop to see i am not playing his GK in every game. LOL. Well done Rich for your continued hard work. Cheers Dave
There is the potential to have some sort of mark to show which players were picked in the most recent game, if this is something managers feel is important. Obviously thats up for discussion.
I can live with it if it takes all that time off but I did enjoy looking at other teams teamsheet and seeing what different team/managers played and trying to counter act that with my team

I am sorry to be the first to say that I dont particularly like the alterations as the previous system gave you info on both your team and the team you were going to play. I based a lot of my team choice on how the other team had previously lined up, although I know that a team wont necessarily stay the same one week to another but it was a fundamental part of the game in my opinion. It also means that I now need to always note who I have played to keep my own website updated.
So if there is a way of marking who played the last game would not be too much work then that would be a very good addition.
Despite all the above I know that you put a lot of work into running the game Rich and at the end of the day anything that speeds things up for you are a good thing!
How about this for a solution to seeing who was picked in the last game, as that seems to be the over riding issue from what I can see:
(Sorry Jonny for using you as the example).
The only issue is, if a player plays for his club and moves, it will then show up 10 players played last game for one team, and 12 for the team that bought him...

Great Rich good work, why does it show the players you have signed as been playing does that mean they played for there respective teams that week. its a bit confusing. Great work though Cheers
If a player is marked as having played in the last game, and they've moved clubs, it means they played at their old club before moving. Managers doing their homework on future opposition will have to check completed transfer list if more/less than 11 players are showing as having played in the last game.
It's not to trick you, the data is all there if you want to do the homework properly on your opponents. Obviously people do differing degrees of checking before a match.
hello umm if a player moves Rich could you change the colour of the arrow to say red to so that this player has played last game but for a different team
i don't know if this is possible or time consuming though but just an idea so its a little less confusing personally i don't see it as to big a deal
and i don't mind at all that you used my team as the example
everyone can see how amazing my team is now ;) haha maybe in a few seasons i can hopefully say that and not laugh
