It's been suggested by a few people now in the upgrades ideas that we have a horse racing side game. A little like the Beat The Odds in that people could bet, but I think it could potentially be linked to manager wages, if I can find a basic way for managers to buy and own stables. It would be a way for managers in invest their wages they earn, but it would also allow people who couldn't afford to do that yet to bet as a side game.
The only problem being I know very little about horse racing. If I can make a basic engine to run results, I'm happy to set it up as a part of the game. I'd be interested to know if this is something managers would be interested in first of all?
Secondly I'd then need stat categories like stats for Race Courses (like firm/soft etc ), and stats for Horses that I could use to run the engine. So if anyone is a keen follower of the horses, and could contribute here towards a list that could be used, that'd help towards the idea.
Obviously if people aren't interested, I won't bother looking into this idea any further. It won't come into effect until next season anyway even if it all comes together quickly, but now is the time to look into these things as player updates take over towards the end of the season.
I go to a fair bit of horse racing Rich but the stats you are mentioning like going (firm/soft) could be linked to the weather displayed in each country, for example if its raining then the going would be soft/heavy, but if its sunny then the ground may be good/firm. I am not sure if you are planning to use the same horses every week with stats etc so not too sure how this would work and how you could incorporate the stats. Like you said though the demand needs to be sufficient for you to put the extra work in to incorporate this into the game.

I dont really know much about Horse Racing but I think it's to much off the football scene, The extra workload I think would be too much and more could be put into the site, For me It is a downside. Wages could be used to Improve systems in the club, EG.. youth, Stadium, Player Improvment before life outside of Football is introduced. Dont know if i make sense but that's my views.
