the name is pretty self-explanatory. It was an idea I had during last season but the season ended in a busy time for me so I couldn't develop it further. I've spoken to a few people and they seem interested but I though I'd open it up to everyone and see who would be willing to enter.
Basically everyone who enters will get £100 million to spend on 11 players (using FA values) and points will be collected from games played, goals scored and assists. Seeing as goalkeepers can't score I will set up a seperate points system for them (eg. they get a set of points come the end of the season - more points if the team they belong to has let few goals in).
There will be a fair amount of organisation and effort go into creating and maintaining it, so it will cost around £2.50 to enter (to be paid through FA's donation scheme). And also transfers within FAFF would not be allowed (the starting 11 is what you keep for the whole season and if a player moves within FA then the points continue at their new club). There will be a prize for the winners/runners up etc. which will be determined by FA once enough people have declared their interest to make it worthwhile actually doing this.
If you're interested, have any questions or ideas then feel free to post them here or PM me but as I said earlier; this will only get the go ahead if enough people are interested.
Also what about cheating? For example: last game of the season and Mr Gardner and I are joint top, I ask Tezza to rest a player from his team that Mr Gardner has in his FAFF team, I win due to this player not getting any points. How will this be monitered?
Paul - the idea behind £100 million would be that it would average out at just over £9 million per player, but bear in mind that GK will cost far less. It would also mean that people couldn't just pick the most expensive players - they would need to pick players from across all leagues both high and low. £100 million was also just a nice, round figure! Would people prefer it if the money was £120 million?
Scores will be the same across all leagues, but a ST in English league 1 with 7 attack is likely to score a similar amount to a ST in the Premiership with 9 attack because the quality of defences and goalkeepers is going to be lower too. To take an example from last season team of the season stats - Totti was the top scorer in Seria A with 20 goals and Henry was the top scorer in Seria B with 20 goals also.
GG - Yes it should be ready for the start of next season, so people can pick their teams in the gap between the final updates (new youth players, promotions/relegations etc.) and before the first week of the next season. I'm saying about it now to see how many people are interested and to get the rules smoothed out - eg how much money people can spend on their teams.
Jop - Unless anyone comes up with a good reason why people can't pick their own players, I dont see why you couldn't chose your own lot as it would be a bit unfair to the top teams if they could chose their own players.
Right - there seems to be enough of interst in this that it should go ahead.
Nobody sadi about whether the amount to spend should be £100 million or £120 million so it currently stands at £100 million to spend on your eleven players but if people think it should be £120 then I'm willing to increase it.
The list of participants is currently:
Simon Jenkins Mark Galeozzie Simon Newcombe Craig Radford Steve Jenkins Luke Coakley Paul Harrington Terry Manifold Jonathan Petty Ray Farnell Iain Kochanowski Rob O'Brien Jamie Best Huw Evans Martin Turney Dale Price
If you want to join then let me know and I'll add you to the list and if you want to be taken off then I'll take you off the list. I've got Teams of the Season to do next week and you can't pick teams until they're updated for the start of next season so it wont start until then, and the entrance fee will have to go through FA's donation scheme next season when it starts, NOT now.
Cheers all
Simon

Yeah I'll sort everything out in a week's time - I'll try to get it it's own messageboard section and there should be prizes for the top 3 or whatever.
After teams are chosen they cannot be changed because the admin would be WAY too much. Come the start of next season, when picking your teams, send them to me privately so that there's no copying and then after week 1 I'll put everyone's teams up and a leaderboard.
2x La Liga trophy // Sevilla 2x Spanish cup // Sevilla 1x Premiership trophy // Man City 2x English cup // Man City 2x European Cup // Man City 1x Segunda trophy // Valencia
If managers are happy with the fee, I will look to include an actual medal/trophy as a prize as well as FA related winnings. The only things you have to agree to are the fee to join, giving your address at the end to me to allow me to send it, and the fact that if you live outside to UK you won't be able to recieve it due to postage costs being so much more for something that isn't a letter. If you have any issues with that, feel free to post or email me.
It wouldn't let me edit the last one, so here's the updated list:
Simon Jenkins Mark Galeozzie Simon Newcombe Craig Radford Steve Jenkins Luke Coakley Paul Harrington Terry Manifold Jonathan Petty Ray Farnell Iain Kochanowski Rob O'Brien Jamie Best Huw Evans Martin Turney Dale Price Stuart Price Louis Galeozzie Dave Davies Evans
